everything all of the time

Had an entirely lovely weekend with many lovely people in and out from Friday to Sunday. Fun times included: swimming, cooking corn over the fire in the yard, two laughter filled games of charades, and spontaneous banjo, fiddle and guitar playing on the porch.

And before that, on Thursday, I finally got to see The Devil Makes Three play. They were every bit as awesome as I knew they would be. Totally rocking show (literally there were so many people smooshed into the room shoulder to shoulder, bouncing up and down that the floor was bouncing with us). It was also hot like a sauna. A very bouncy dancey awesome sauna. I haven't sweat that much since femmenerd and I were stuck in traffic just outside of DC at noon in a car with no air conditioning. The show was by far more fun than that.

Have read the fourth issue of Supernatural: Origins. I continue to feel mostly meh about it. So far about half of it is passably good and half of it I have issues with because of characterization and possibly overly picky things that I probably only notice because of fandom. It does make me wonder though, are the comics considered canon? Is this the backstory that Kripke envisioned? There is one thing that I do really like about this latest issue, however. Dean was apparently conceived at the Grand Canyon.

Despite all this mediocreness I'm still considering buying a copy of the novel. Mostly because I doubt anyone else I know is going to buy it and I do have an amazon gift certificate. And speaking of buying things, there's not some fancy if you buy it at on store your get extra cool stuff thing going on with the S2 DVDs like there was with S1 is there? Also, Serenity collectors edition with more commentary and deleted scenes. How crazy is it to buy a movie twice?

Yesterday I was very productive work-wise. Today, so far, not so much.

Also, teh_everyday is an awesome thing that is made of awesome.

music, dean, my friends are awesome, things that are cool, friends, spn comic, supernatural, comics
