my head's up with the birds in the t-hut
I realized over the weekend (or well technically it was Monday and Tuesday but it was like a weekend, so whatever) that I've been fangirling the same emo tv bad boys with anger issues and low self esteem since I was fourteen. See, there's this show The Young Riders my first really big tv obsession that had me writing fic and shipping before I knew what any of that was. As it turns out one Jimmy Hickok, who remains my favorite character to this day, looks and sounds a whole hell of a lot like Tim Riggins. He's even got the same moody way of looking down and thinking badly of himself, the not reading very well, the hair in the face, their voices are even similar and their noses and their lovely broody staring off into space and avoiding things. Also, the kissing their best friend's girlfriends.
Suddenly so many things in my life make so much sense. Especially how I fell so totally and completely for Tim in record time. This also really makes me with S2 and 3 were out on dvd, though, 'cause some of my favorite Jimmy episodes are in there. *sigh*
(And this is the part where I resist going on in great detail about my love for Jimmy and The Young Riders and how that led to full-on wild west and gunfighter obsession that included writing every report I was assigned in high school I could even remotely relate to that time period on things like the Pony Express, Billy the Kid and Hickok himself and making all my friends watch the show even though none of them cared even a little 'cause they were all into 90210.)

From The Gunfighter one of my fav S1 Jimmy eps: A little Jimmy with no shirt (though not the same as Tim with no shirt). I love it when he's all stupidly cocky. God, I love him so much. Smiling to angsty!face in nothing flat.
From S2 (or was it S3? I don't remember) The Blood of the Others: The Jimmy and Lou kiss. One of my favorite eps. I wish there was more of it somewhere.
Also, S2 Bad Company the Jimmy accidentally shoots a woman and runs off to an outlaw town episode: Things just don't even go right for guys like Jimmy. And, Angsty montage to "Bad Company" by Bad Company. (No, it's not a vid it was just like that on the show.)
An homage to my very first ship Jimmy and Lou. Including a fight set to heavy metal guitar and angsty wood chopping. Oh, the bad fic I wrote about them way back in the day.
