Big Ideas call for Big Responsibility

Howdie, Heydie, how-do-ya-do. I made it through Mardi Gras, remembering every single moment of it this year. should I feel successful about this, or shouldn't I? It's a tough one to call. I was able to play my precious geetar in a couple parades with my buds and my Bud's Lights which we got raving reviews for.
After actually viewing a measly ONE night parade, with no excessive consumption of alcohol, I feel I have failed my heritage and advantage of being a creole national. I did however leave Fat tuesday with a delicate little sunraping on my face and arms due to my involvement with a Thibodaux day parade. Rock on Ph Level, rock on. And so ends Mardi Gras 2004, yet the spirit lives on. Which brings me to my next rant:

My historical facts arent really up-to-date, but I think Fat Tuesday is supposed to be the last day of indulgence and gluttony if I may even use the term. Years ago, people would fuckin party the hell out of the night, because no one would party during the lentin season, nor hear bands, or radio, or barely even do many of the things we take for granted these days. Also, giving up a temptation for 40 days was a must. Now, as the evolution of dumbing America progresses, our generation looks at these religious followings as a joke, and still resort to partying, AND indulgence, and pay no attention to the history behind mardi gras, ash wednesday, the lentin season, or easter in fact. I sadly admit I am one of the products of generation ignorance. However I did give up one thing for lent - soft drinks.
so...
Thank God for beer.

Live your life, Adios
