i am so confused by what i see when i look at designer dresses. it sometimes seems like the designer is playing some kind of sick joke on the celebs that are wearing their "creations". old designers ('30s-70s) were very respectable in their clothing and in those they chose to wear the designs to market them. They all had a specific style and chose actresses/actors, singers, and others who embodied that style to wear them to events.
Now it seems people who have a grand to spend can buy anything they want from any designer who wants to sell to anyone. While i do think that people should be able to wear what they want, i think designers should have an obligation to at least inform the person that this dress/pant/skirt/blouse/whatever is not right for their body type. People these days don't seem to care and would rather spend thousands for a name, than actually look good.

Hell, look at the 3grand+ expensive purses and shit that people buy in dozens. It's just a goddamned purse with tacky logos all over it, but because the tacky logo belongs to a brand that was established in the 30s as being "classy" "elegant" "exquisite", etc...people want to think that if they buy that purse or dress that they will also look as good as the starlets of that era or embody those traits.
