For my cycling peeps - Olympic coverage

Jul 25, 2012 23:12

In which I dump several Olympic Cycling resources. I'm unabashedly bugnuts crazy over the Men's Road Race event (natch), but I follow all Olympic cycling, men's and women's. Here are some helpful resources I've found so far.

The official schedule with all Olympic events

CyclingWeekly.co.uk has the best Olympic road maps I've found

Full listing of Men's Road Race athletes

I see that a Wikipedia entry dedicated to following cycling at the 2012 Olympics has been created. Bless you, kind fellow obsessive.

No Andy Schleck. :-( Looks like he just couldn't recover from those injuries fast enough. Damn.

WTF? How is Thomas Voeckler not on the French roster? France, you idiot wankers.

Frank Schleck on the athlete listing surprises me a bit. I guess the suspected doping charge in Le Tour doesn't affect him on the Olympics. Should be interesting to see how this plays out.

Sung Baek Park - I have never seen him before, probably because his strength is track cycling (he's got that look about him), but hellooooo-oo cycling prettyboy.

Is it me or is Denis Menchov channeling a bit of Martin Freeman in this roster pic?

Bradley Wiggins, be warned:
darththalia and I are prepared to follow you to a movie theater and "accidentally" fall into you with an electric shaver if that's the only way to be rid of those horrid mutton chops.

Men's Road Racing kicks off the Olympics. NBC will be covering what appears to be all of the event starting at 5am EST.

Who is everyone pulling for this time around?

I'll be cheering for Wiggins, Cavendish, Cancellara, Vinokourov (he didn't make any wild moves at the Tour so he has to be saving all that pent up craycray up for something), O'Grady, Van Garderen (can't wait to see what TJ pulls off), and of course Chris Horner, a class act who could school all these kids. *G*

Just a day and a half. w00t!

Feel free to nab this icon if you're so inclined.
