There seems to be a small percentage of folks who still don't have a working sense of logic. These are the guys who still think Bush is a great statesman and any war started by a Republican is a good war.

When I was a kid my parents, trying to instill patriotism, told me a lot of stories.

There was the one about how in the US the legal system is the best in the world, even if not perfect. People aren't thrown in jail without trial and never heard from again or tortured.

Last night I attended one of the monthly Freedom Forums that is sponsored by Mayor Rocky Anderson. This month's discussion was on the "Freedom to Criticize Government" and it more specifically referred to our Mayor's criticism of George W. My family and I are going on a road trip later this week for 10 days, so we won’t be home for the July 4th hoopla. For the last few years I’ve woken up to find a plastic American Flag on a wooden stick stuck in the grass in my front yard, compliments of some local insurance or real estate agent.
