A/N#2: Kamen (仮面) is Japanese for Mask.
A/N#3: This is related to Kamen.

I wasn't really sure whether I should post this or not, but I decided to just do it now.
there's no point in this, the conversation was just stuck in my head and I wanted to write it down.

Really, no plot, no point... It's just a conversation and it fitted Kamen so well.

I'm sorry it's so quiet around this journal lately m(_ _)m

Awake

Jin stared at the ceiling in his bedroom and once again tried to close his eyes to fall asleep. But it didn’t take him ten seconds before he opened them again, staring at the same spot as before.

He reached out for his mobile and dialed the number he had dialed over and over again for the past day.

It rang and rang, but no one picked up and he sighed, shifting, rolling to his side.

“Hey, I’m not available right now. Leave a message.”

Jin closed his eyes in an attempt to calm down. “Me again. Where are you? I’m worried sick. Call me back, okay?”

During the day, he had not worked much, everyone had been distracted with the news and the pictures that had been floating the TV screens.

Jin had never been as terrified before.  He probably had, but now, he couldn’t remember. He had spent almost all day with making calls, writing text messages and waiting for replies.

Only, when he had known everyone was okay, he could have calmed down a bit. But, actually, he had not confirmed everyone okay and that bothered him, kept him awake, couldn’t grant him the sleep he needed.

Among all the people he had called, Nakamaru had told him that everyone was okay, that they had texted each other instantly and that he had received answers from all band members.

That was what bothered Jin. He theoretically knew Kazuya was okay, but just as it had been once before, he wanted to confirm it himself, with his own eyes.

Kazuya wasn’t okay, as long as Jin didn’t hear him say it with his own words.

His mobile made a short noise and Jin sat up in an instant, gripping it to check the text message he had gotten.

I’m alright. Call you soon.

That was all? Jin frowned and put the phone away. It did calm him that Kazuya had contacted him now, but it wasn’t the way Jin had imagined it. He wanted Kazuya to understand just how worried he was. How could Kazuya take it so lightly? After all Jin was too far away to stay calm. The fact alone that he couldn’t be there, that he couldn’t make sure Kazuya was really alright, was really tearing him apart.

For a minute, he kept sitting like that, then he reached out for his mobile again and dialed Kazuya’s number. This time, it didn’t even need three rings, before he got an answer.

“I said I’d call you, didn’t I?”

“Don’t give me that shit”, Jin replied in a tone just as annoyed. “I think you don’t quite see how serious the situation is.”

“What?” Kazuya inhaled sharply. “Are you in America or am I mixing things up here?”

“I am, that’s why I’m dying of fear.” Jin rubbed his forehead. “Listen, I really like fighting with you, but right now, I can’t really take that.”

Kazuya remained silent for a moment. “I’m sorry I didn’t call you earlier.”

“Nakamaru said you’re fine.”

“I am, Jin”, Kazuya said. His voice got softer. “I really am. The networks were overloaded.”

Jin nodded, trying to keep his voice. “I wanted to hear it from you. I’m sorry I am not there.”

“I’m quite happy you’re not.” Kazuya paused. “It doesn’t look safe here at the moment.”

“You probably see why I’m worried.”

“It wouldn’t help you if I told you I’m scared like hell, would it?” Kazuya took a deep breath. “So, I’m not hurt anywhere, no injuries. You don’t need to worry, okay?”

“Kazuya…”

“Stop that, Jin, you’re not making it any better.”

Jin swallowed thickly. “I know. Where are you now?”

“I just arrived at my parents’, when you called.”

“Is your family okay?”

“Yeah, everything’s fine here.”

Jin nodded, closed his eyes. “Let me say one thing, okay?”

Kazuya sighed. “Go ahead.”

“Call me, when you need me, okay? You tend to think you were a bother, but you are not. That you put me under stress, when you let me know you’re not okay, but it’s really okay. I want you to call me, when you need me.”

Jin waited for an answer and he almost thought, he had made Kazuya angry again, but then, he heard the other one taking deep breaths and he knew just how hard all that was on Kazuya.

“It’s fine, I’ll call you, before I’ll go to bed today.” Kazuya’s voice sounded firmer than Jin had expected.

“Did you even sleep the night?”

“You’re not sleeping right now, either.”

Jin smiled slightly. “It’s hard to sleep, when I don’t know if you’re alright.”

“Well”, Kazuya murmured. “In that case, you can sleep now.”

“Yeah, fine.” Jin pressed his lips together.

“I’ll call again.”

“Take care”, Jin murmured.

Kazuya hung up and Jin remained sitting in his bed for a bit longer, staring at the phone in his hand. He put it to the night stand again and lay down, closing his eyes.

Kazuya’s voice echoed in his ears and he tried to calm down, to relax and finally fall asleep, but before he noticed it, he lay on his back again, staring up at the ceiling.

His mobile rang and Jin jumped, before he gripped it and frowned, then he picked up.

“I told you to sleep and instead I can feel your vibes of worry even here.”

Jin laughed gently. “Sorry.”

Kazuya sighed. “I don’t want any more vibes reaching me here, got it?”

“Yeah, promise.”

“Okay, then.” Kazuya waited for a moment. “Sleep well.”

“Hm.” Jin lay down again, closed his eyes. “I will.”

“Okay, then”, Kazuya repeated, before he murmured: “Love you.”

“You too”, Jin answered and hung up.

He still didn’t fall asleep; he kept staring at the walls of his room for the whole night. Jin tossed and turned, his thought occupied with worries and fears.

Kazuya most likely knew, but he didn’t call again that night.
