Marie left.

On the day he left, he told her that he was going to go see Sasha. She understood this: after all, he and Sasha were like siblings, teammates. It made sense that they would worry about each other, right?

During their last date, she confessed. She told him that she actually liked him more than a friend at the end of the date. Well of course, right? She wouldn't have agreed to go on dates if she didn't. Marie didn't reply, but he gave a smile. On the day he left, he replied, that he liked her too. She felt so happy to hear those words, but she wished he would have answered it sooner. It was so hard not to burst out crying and latch onto the other, tell him not to go. But she understood the bond between teammates, or so she wanted to think.

But then after a day, she started feeling upset. Why couldn't she talk to Marie? Why did he have to leave? Why couldn't they keep on spending time together? He was always there for her, staying over in her room when Sasha left. Now that he left too, she was back to having the entire room to herself...

After parting with Marie, she never went back to her room. Instead, she wandered into the forest. The forest at Final Destination City wasn't anything like National Park, but there was still the faint scent of trees that always reminded her of home. She took a breath in, getting in the scent before turning into her Pokemon form and crawl through the forest. Walking with a blank mind was always so refreshing.

Spinny came to a halt when she saw a familiar-looking clump of leaves in the distance. An oddish! It was out for their night walks, like herself. Expect, the wild grass/poison type wasn't aware there was another Pokemon walking around at this time of the night, yet, probably.

A perfect prey, if she were hunting.

Her mind paused: hunting. It was something that scared her so much. She was a gatherer, an architect of creating traps. But when she thought over it, she was still getting her kills and having food. The only difference was she waited for the prey to come to her, not setting out to find one wandering around in the forest. So what was she so scared about it so much? She came to Smash Academy in hopes of getting stronger, to change herself for the better so she can withstand anything that comes across her when she sets out to visit the rest of the world. She was brave enough to confess to someone who didn't return the feelings, she was brave enough to move on with her feelings. She had changed, gotten stronger, in a way, during the time she spent in Smash Academy. With Marie gone, she came to realize that she needed to change. She couldn't sit and wait for things to get caught in her web. She needed to take a step foward now.

She quietly crawled up a tree nearby the Oddish, who had taken some time to rest. Perfect opportunity. She spurred out a thin thread and trailed it down to stick it on its back. But when she was close to attaching her thread, the Oddish moved away, hopping deeper into the forest. Spinny gave a small sigh, watching the opportunity disappear behind the trees before lowering herself down onto the grass.

Then for the next week, it became a routinely basis for Spinny to venture out into the forest every night, to practice a little bit each day. The first few tries ended in futile, not even getting close to stick a thread onto the prey. Other times, the thread was too thick and the prey noticed it before she could even track their homes down.

This was going to be a long process.

Marie left... I was able to talk to him one last time before he left. I'm going to miss him so much...

I've been trying to make really really thin strings to pass time. It's actually really really hard! My web strings are really strong and durable to even be used as a piano cord, but I've never made really thin web strings before. It's a really nice challenge!
