Firefly: This Isis Family Profiles

May 25, 2011 20:45

Meet the members of the Isis Family (or the ones that really matter, i.e. the ones Jayne really cares about). You know what that means... the next chapter of Giselle later this week.

I don't check LJ for one day. One day! And I miss the Isis Family Profiles for a good 24 hours. I am ashamed of myself ( ... )

Don't feel too bad - there have been several instances with me where I didn't check LJ for more than two weeks. If anyone should be ashamed, it should be me.

I'm glad you enjoyed Luce, Gale and Erin. They've been living in my head the longest (and doesn't that sound weird?) so they're the most developed, although Mattie is getting up there because of her relationship with Erin. She's really the only one who can shut him up. There will definitely be fireworks when the trio meet up with River, with Luce and River facing off, Erin talking weather to a baffled Mal, and Gale setting out the tea things.

River might never fully understand the complicated relationship between Jayne and his Ma, but Jayne's Ma knows exactly what's good for her boy. Plus, they'll have cute grandbabies. ;)

I'm glad you enjoyed these profiles. The next chapter is going to be in Erin's perspective as he realizes that Jayne's gone and fallen in love, so I'm really happy to know that you like him and that he's believable.

Grandbabies?!

I may have just squeed myself to death. I will require at least one chapter far enough into the future that we are allowed to see what sort of superhero children Jayne and River produce. Please. I'll beg. Grovel, even.

Because it is you asking - I will most definitely produce a chapter, far, far into the future focusing on Jayne and River's children - who would probably end up being superhumans.

I wonder how many they have? I know that they have at least one... maybe three in the end? And one of them has to be a girl and the apple of her father's eye. Maybe two boys?

I also want to write a chapter where Ma Cobb and River's mommy meet. Two super powerful women in one room, having tea and generally making us all shiver in fear.

You've created two chapters there that, in my mind, will be a mind-blowing Raynegasm of awesomeness. It would be impossible for Jayne and River's children NOT to be superhumans. I mean, they'll be able to use any weapon AND be geniuses. Two boys and a girl sounds about right. Two more Jayne's in the world is always a good thing, and a little girl as awesome as River for whom Jayne would destroy whole worlds.

I can see River and Ma Cobb having tea and them having a glorious time staring at the other, while all other observing parties really did shiver in fear. I mean, honestly. One of them created Jayne Cobb. The other loves him for everything he is. He is her dragon, after all.

I've decided that this weekend I'm re-reading the entirety of Gisele. I need to saturate my brain with it as to be completely ready for the next steps in Jayne and River's grand adventure.

Heck - their kids are probably the next step on the evolution scale. I'm thinking that maybe Jayne and River have a son first (who may or may not be called David), then a girl (who will not be called Giselle or Odette - perhaps Eliza Jane after her grandma and her daddy?) and then another boy (who shall remain nameless at the moment - maybe Luke?). They'd end up conquering the rest of the 'Verse their parents left for them.

He is her dragon! And she's his fenghuang. *happy little sigh* That's going to be a very interesting moment when River reveals this fact. I imagine more than a few eyebrows will be raised, especially since not everyone will understand River's reasoning.

Yay! The next chapter (which I am just editing now) is the start of the next arc, Jayne's drawn a line in the sand, and now everyone else is reacting to it. At the same time, the relationship between Jayne and River changes as they become more open about their possessiveness of each other.
