Crap, it's been two months since I've posted anything here. I'll try to sum up the events of those two months quickly. I spent a lot of time with Kristen over Christmas break, and the vacation was pretty good overall. I spent the week after Christmas at Disney, refereeing at the Adidas Showcase tournament. Everything went pretty good with that; I ended up doing 20 games in 7 days, although my legs were in bad shape at the end of it. I stretched a lot before and during my games, but I don't think it was a matter of stretching. They were simply overworked. They still occasionally hurt following busy days, even two months after the fact. I won't have a chance to take a break from doing games until this summer.

The new semester started, and classes are starting to get more difficult. Last semester was bad for me, so I'm hoping to bounce back with a 3.5, if possible. So far, so good, although I don't have much to base my grade off of. History is going well, as is to be expected, and Topics in CS seems to be good thus far. I have no idea about the other two. I've been allowing myself to get extremely distracted this semester. It's been taking entirely too much effort and willpower to sit down for an extended period and do anything school related. I'm not sure why... I guess I'm just burnt out.

I've been looking into getting an internship in Orlando this summer. I put my resume online, and I've received a few emails based on that, which is promising. Hopefully I'll find something that can give me practical experience and help me network (talking about people, not computers). I'm still debating whether I want to try to go for FIEA after graduation. For those of you who don't know, that's a post grad master's degree program for people interested in video game design, which is what I would ultimately like to do. However, I've been disheartened by what I've heard about the profession: extremely high burnout rate, no company interest in the employee, etc. I don't want my life to be consumed by my job... I doubt I could enjoy myself if that was all I ever did.

In other news, I've discovered this band called Chroma Key that I think some of you could appreciate. You can listen to all their music by going to their website (http://www.chromakey.com/), clicking the audio link, picking a CD and clicking the play button. I enjoy the Dead Air for Radios album the most, although they all have good moments. If any of you decide to check it out, let me know what you think of it.
