Dating Greed
Part 3

Waking had never felt so exhilerating before this day.

The sun seemed more bright, the birds songs were less annoying, he didn't care that his hair was knotted and had come out of its braid. He sighed but couldn't make himself go bac to sleep. He was too....happy! That was the word for it. He was too happy. His date had been fantastic. Greed was an interesting person, and he liked to talk about things that didn't revolve around himself. He had asked all sorts of questions about Edward and Alphonse and was genuinely interested in the answer.

Edward liked him.

He threw the bed covers away and shivered. Fall. Was. Cold. He pulled on pajama bottoms and his robe before exiting his bedroom. He hummed on his way down the stairs and into the kitchen where he started a pot of coffee and then, because he was in such a good mood, the fixings for pancakes. A smile curved his lips. He had heard that you weren't supposed to kiss on a first date, but, that didn't matter. Greed had walked him up to the front door at three in the morning - and gave him a soft, chase kiss before Edward disappeared inside. They weren't drunk either, they had spet hours talking and....Edward liked it. A lot.

He had finished the first batch of pancakes when Winry and Alphonse joined him in the kitchen; "Wow, Brother, you must have had a wonderful time last night," Alphonse stated. Edward only cooked when he was happy.

"Did it go well?" inry asked slyly, Alphonse poured them both a cup of coffee.

"Yeah," Edward's dreamy smile appeared and Alphonse giggled.

"So...did you do anything?" Winry gave Edward an evil smirk.

"What do you mean by that?"

"You know, smooching, grabbing, gasping?" she grinned, "That sort of thing,"

"No. We didn't do a thing, thank you very much," Edward snorted, not angry at all. Teasing was to be expected. He made fun of Winry and all of her boyfriends. Fair was Fair.

"Okay, so your telling me that you and him didn't go all the way? who is it anyway?" Winry asked.

"Greed," Edward replied.

"The Homunculus?" Alphonse almost choked on his coffee.

"He's...different somehow. I can't explain it," Edward shrugged, "And no, we didn't got to third base. We talked, danced, ate, you know. We did normal stuff," Edward put a plate full of pancakes on the table. Winry grabbed three more plates. Maple and Strawberry syrup was put onto the table by Alphonse.

"That's cool," Alphonse said, "If you trust him...than I guess nothing is wrong with him,"

"Al, you are far too trusting," Winry admonished.

"But if he's going to be Edward's boyfriend..."

"Who say's he is? what if he doesn't want me? what if I wasn't what he was looking for? it was one date!" a pancake hit the ceiling.

"Whoa, Ed...no need to spaz out," Winry blinked. The pancake sucumbed to gravity and fell onto Edward's head. He swiped it into the bin.

Alphonse hid a smile behind his hand. Just then the door bell rang. Edward stomped out of the kitchen, he deflated as his younger brother's giggling caught his ears. He couldn't be mad at them. At the door, no one from Mustang needed him for some plot to take over Amestris, nor was it a mysterious note telling him that one of his friends had been kidnapped.

Instead, it was a small box. He was too curious to wait and see what it was with Aphonse and Winry. He broke the brightly colour wrapping and found a silver bracelet. The chain was tightly wound and there was a single long oval piece that the chain connected on each end. On both sides was a tranmutation circle.

"What is that?" Alphonse poked Edward int he shoulder. The older boy closed the door and handed the bracelet to Alphonse. Looking back into the box was a note. It read; "Edward, hope you like it. I think you know what it is, if you don't you will. Greed."

"That isn't any array I've ever seen. How can that be possible?" Alphonse asked, he took his brother's wrist and hooked the present around the soft ski. Edward shrugged.

"We don't know everyhing," Edward replied.

"No, I suppose not. Come on, let's eat, we have to be at the train station in an hour and you still have our birthday gifts to open," Alphonse pulled Edward back and into the kitchen.

In the end, Edward had a whole new pile of books to read. Some sweaters. And Winry had even made him a new set of Automail. They had switched it out quickly and Eward had taken some over the counter pain killers. Switching out old Automail for new was alwas a horrible experience, but, he felt taller. He wondered if he had grown at all.

They met the train on time, Edward gave both Alphonse and Winry a hug before seeing them board. Alphonse picked a place where he could easily see Edward. They waved at each other till the train could no longer be seen. The excitement of departing passengers being seen off by family was over seconds later as the crowd dispersed about their business. Edward sighed as he headed back home.

Back to his number one problem; What was HE going to do with his life?
