Five things make a post? Really?
I have a new computer, which is mostly set up. Dell did a moderately good job getting me a replacement for a computer which was a total lemon.
I'm signed up to take my first test in Aikido in four weeks time. I'm much more nervous about this than I should be - I passed for the same rank 20 years ago in a different dojo. It will be quite a different test, but the techniques worry me less than getting the ceremony of the test right. The techniques worry me less than the task of finding someone to be my uke on the test. I don't know the people in this dojo well at my level - most of the people I'm on speaking terms with are at least brown belts. This process is pretty much aimed at triggering my social insecurities.
Work has been kind of fun recently, prototyping new gameplay features and trying to stay on top of planning for others.
Writing pretty much hasn't happened, and wont until the new computer is fully set up.
No movement on getting the house ready for sale. Plans to work on that last weekend pretty much died due to sickness. It's going to be a long-term project, much of which will involve getting rid of stuff. Local friends should expect to get stuff foisted off on them at every opportunity.
There are political rants brewing, but I'm going to wait until I have more mental equilibrium to write them.
