Yup, the 6th Annual Philadelphia Fringe Festival is finally over. The ungodly amounts of money I poured into this project has left me with a distinct flavor of manure in my mouth. Never self producing ever again. I highly recommend if anyone wants in on something like this that you give a CEO head for money or sell your soul (whatever is left of it) to whatever "devil" you believe in (yes, believing in Christ means you believe in the devil, you rotten Satanists). Let's see how much the Great Nippulini lost:
$ 25 application fee to Fringe Festival
$150 for Fringe guide listing
$170 for ad in Fringe guide
$150 posters, flyers
$ 70 insurance for 5 shows
$312 three weeks of ads in the City Paper
$100 (apporximate) gas for driving myself and my 100 pound box of weighty wares
$31.25 ticket handling fee (Fringe Box office)
$ 30 paying my door guy
$ 86 meals, drinks... oh yeah, tips.
$1123.25
-----------------------------
Okay, now lets see what the Great Nippulini MADE
Show 1 - 4 tickets advance, 2 at door = $60
Show 2 - No tickets advance, 8 at door (4 got half price) = $60
Show 3 - 2 tickets advance, 1 at door, I cancelled the show and refunded money. = $0
Show 4 - 2 tickets advance, 4 at door (2 got half price) = $50
Final Show - 4 tickets advance, 15 at door (2 free, 4 half) = $150
-----------------------------
Let's do the math now.....
Expenses - $1123.25
Ticket sales - $320
If anyone is complaining about anything in the world, try losing $803.25 on a performance art venture.
(These numbers are VERY accurate, note: I did not include the $100 in parking tickets for parking at venues and getting ticketed)
