And speaking of video games, what is up with all the crap Activision/Infinity Ward is trying to pull with Modern Warfare 2? I forgave CoD4's scandalously short single-player game because because I got it on sale, and because multiplayer is such a huge part of the franchise. But CoD4:2 has crossed the line. In addition to an equally short campaign, the multiplayer has now also been gutted via the removal of dedicated servers, which will decimate the modding and clan communities - the very cornerstones of the franchise's multiplayer popularity. And as if that isn't enough, Activision is selling this crippled product for $60 on PC. That is, for 10 dollars more than any other blockbuster title in my entire adult life.
I don't get it. Is Activision responding to the decline of PC gaming by deliberately trying to finish off the market for good? It's not like any sane person could expect this to turn it around.
