In which we recount the horrors of chronic sleeplessness

I went through the same thing for a number of months. Exactly the same.

I suggest seeing a doctor and getting a prescription for Lunesta. It's non-addictive and it works. See about getting on it for a couple of months and then stepping down (I did the latter by cutting back on caffeine in a big way.)

I'm doing the same thing lately or the exact opposite. I either don't slep at all, or do nothing but sleep. I can't function this way. Oh well. I hope everything gets better for you. I'm sure it will. Love ya.

Take the time to see a doctor, and see what's recommended. I'd be leery of Ambien, as it is easy not to take it properly, as my brother can attest. I know nothing about Lunesta, other than the ads that I'm sure you've seen.

My brain does the same thing (won't shut down at night) and I take Lunesta for it, but what also works is Restoril or Ativan. I can't ever shut my brain down from the daily stress of the job I do and I have to take a medication every night. :(

You definitely need to see your doc about it, the more sleep you miss, the more tired, stressed and depressed you will be (and your short term memory will no longer exist). Hang in there! :)
