Awesome customer alert!

I had a neat interaction with a customer today. At various points she was asking about books on Tibetan grammar, and said that it was no surprise no one reads them because the Tibetans don't care about Tibetan grammar, so why would anyone else, and I recommended Jonathan Strange and Mr. Norrell to her and she said it sounded neat.

Aaaaaand we were talking about The Once and Fuure King and she started getting all teary-eyed from talking about how great a book it is, specifically the part where all the lessons he's learned come back to help him when he (SPOILER!) pulls Excalibur from the stone. She had a real emotional connection to the book, and she wanted Tibetan dictionaries, and if Stieg Larsson books were brought up during the conversation at any point, it was only from a place of snark.

There were a shit-ton of customers who needed me to register their Nooks (seriously people, not that hard!), and got pissy at me for some reason when they couldn't remember their BN.com passwords, and I reallyreallyreally didn't want to be there, but that one customer made it a bit more bearable.

(Too bad she was like my 2nd customer of the day. Alllll downhill from there!)
