Silly Tests

It's all filodea's fault that I've hared off to go take personality tests and what not.

What did it say your IQ actually WAS?

It came up at 139, which is just under the supposed Genius classification. I'm stuck with something like "very superior" or whatever.

Ugh, I hate that you can't edit comments. I don't have the results any longer, so I can't be absolutely certain on the wording they used. I accidentally cleaned out most of my gmail account the other day, and that was what had the results.

two stupid points.. if that's the same test you took..

sooo close.

I was a 'visionary philosopher' with verbal and mathematical ability...
it compared me to plato...
that alone made it worth it. I've now had my giggle today..

If you say so. I don't remember what I said, but I'll take the blame. I have an MS in Counseling Psych, so that sort of test comes to mind easily. I do enjoy your writing. I gather that you don't care for Dumbledore much, but since you don't focus on him, rather on the reactions of others to what he does, I can deal with it. It's the ones that give Dumbledore's thought processes, and show his "evilness" in great detail that I stop reading. I like Dumbledore.

Oh, I was browsing around in your entries at your LJ, that's all. :)

And it's not so much that I dislike Dumbledore, it's that either it's easy to dislike the choices he's made (or been forced to make) -OR- it's easy to make him out as a bad guy, whether you cast Voldemort in a more flattering light or not.

The Dumbledore I dislike is gambon!Dumbledore.

Me too! I have not seen all the movies all the way through, but what I have seen doesn't match what is in my mind for AD. Richard Harris comes closer, although Ian McKellan as Gandalf comes closest I think. Too bad he can't do both. I was talking to a friend, and she made a comment that I think summarizes the problem well. "Gambon isn't whimsical enough to play Dumbledore." I think that's a good part of it. However, I think there is strength there as well, that perhaps Richard Harris didn't quite capture (although that could have been because of his illness). Anyway, my 2 cents on Gambon as a bad choice for Dumbledore.

Harris was... good enough. A bit infirm, but I could live with that.

Gambon, however... his voice is too strong, his actions too loud, his appearance too dingy, his fingernails too dirty, his beard too grey...

He's too damn forceful. I don't like his accent. And I don't like how the director(s) [are|has been] making him out to be Chicken Little at times. For christ's sake... Dumbledore practically slamming Harry against a wall and interrogating him about entering the cup? Puh-leeeze.
