The other night I took a break from studying to watch History of the World Part I. It occurred to me that the plot of the Roman segment feels a lot like a Marx Brothers movie, in that our heroes come together quickly and randomly, instantly transcending national and class distinctions to recognize each other as comrades who can take and make a joke.
I know I've had the experience of meeting someone and almost instantly knowing I'd end up friends with them, but it makes me wonder if there's some sort of cabal-in-waiting of people who would come together as in a Marx Brothers movie, given the chance.
