Despite the stress and headaches that normally go hand in hand with the holidays, we managed to have a nice weekend. Friday night was the Robert Glasper concert, a review of which can be found on the
big blog. Other than the show, two events from the evening stand out:
First, we had a nice dinner at Triumph Brewery in Princeton. But even better was the show - perched on the second floor, we could look down at the bar, and we witnessed the rather sad (but fascinating) spectacle of some poor schlub trying in vain to hook up with this icy blonde. The most cringe-inducing moment was when he apparently found some pretext for giving her a hug, and it was so awkward it was like an episode of The Office come to life.
On the way back from the concert, I apparently ran over some big hunk of metal and had a blowout. Bent the rim, blew the hubcap off, the whole nine yards. So while I trudge down the road to retrieve said hubcap,
zena73 stepped up and changed the tire in about 10 minutes.
Saturday was the big holiday shindig at
clever_title and
mizerychick's pad. I kicked ass at Wii bowling and we brought rum that was enjoyed by all. We made it home through the storm with no mishaps, so life was good.
Yesterday was all about getting the house in shape for an overnight guest, and decorating the Christmas tree. No aluminum pole this year.
