After the final exam for this term ended, I have a lot of spare time to write... (I HOPE SO)
And my mom & dad dragged me to accompany them watching a movie called Gattaca on HBO. One of the actress is Uma Thurman. At first glance, I didn't pay too much attention, as I thought that this is just another science fiction movies.... after 30 minutes, this was proven wrong. I love the struggling the main character does (he plays the role of Vincent Anthon), whose birth is a natural one (he is not a genetically altered superior human being), and projected to have very bad health status (what the..... 99% probabilities of heart disease????).
Anyway, at the end, Vincent could go to space even though he had to be someone else (pretending) using other's gene evidence. Everyone else was moved by his determination to go to space even though he had to be someone's else. He betray all of his gene's projection (he live past 30, and he was able to enter the Gattaca, one of the toughest place on that time). After all, there's no gene for fate (plus, there's no gene for self determination level). His self determination and the will to sacrifice everything even surpassed her brother's and true Jerome's superior gene.
I do some googling after the movies, and I found in wiki that Gattaca's name formed from AGTC (gene's code).
This movie's touching point is thre's no way man could predict other man's limit through science. As there's some unexplained forces like fate and the strength of someone's will.
