End of The Year Survey- 2013 in review

Jan 01, 2014 00:25

Well i have't mad a journal entry since March of this past year, and that is really surprising, but looking back I just didn't have the time too. I am happy that I had such a nice year in 2013, but also sad that another year has flown by. Is that all part of getting older? Or is it just the days are truly going faster?? Hmm.. well here's my traditional survey I like to look back and reflect on my past year, and also make positive new goals for the future year ahead =)

End of the Year Survey

1. What did you do in 2013 that you'd never done before? I went to Cinque Terre, Italy and that was new. I can't think of anything else

2. Did you keep your new years' resolutions, and will you make more for next year? - Never do.

3. Did anyone close to you give birth? - not this year, but I've seen a few beautiful new babies of acquaintances

4. Did anyone close to you die? - No, and if they had as a CO once said, - it's taking the underground train to paradise.

5. What countries did you visit? - Canada and Italy

6. What would you like to have in 2014 that you lacked in 2013? - Time, it just feels like time went so fast I didn't get the spiritual goals I wanted to accomplish complete, and I didn't even know where the year went.

7. What date from 2013 will remain etched upon your memory, and why? - Well, August 4th we went to Italy till September 6th and that was a pretty amazing trip!

9. What was your biggest failure? - not budgeting like I need to, that's an ongoing struggle, I admire those who are good at being frugal

10. Did you suffer illness or injury? - Injuries from a car accident 2 and half years ago are always plaguing me, but nothing new upon those thank goodness!

11. What was the best thing you bought? -  I can't t think of anything really, I did buy a new digital camera for my trip and that's nice because its water proof, shock proof, freeze proof. lol pretty much accident prone me proof.

12. Whose behavior merited celebration? - Those in my congregation that are dealing with various trials and extreme health problems, it is so hard to see ones you love suffer, but encouraging also to see that their faith stays strong and they rely on Jehovah through it all.

13. Whose behavior made you appalled and depressed? - People being inconsiderate, we're admonished to put others before ourselves and I just was sad and upset to see so much selfishness, egotistical, and me first attitudes instead of being humble and caring. Certainly shows me what I want to work on never being.

14. Where did most of your money go? - monthly bills, trip, doctors, Oh yes and I can't forget- GAS..wow yeah gas in the car, its like $60 some dollars every time I fill 'em up.

15. What did you get really, really, really excited about? I think my trip in August, our Memorial, and our District convention and every CO visit, I'm always super excited about those! -

16. What song will always remind you of 2013? - I'd say Avicii "Wake Me Up" and New Politics "Harlem"

Compared to this time last year, are you:

17. Thinner or fatter? -Same old up and down rollercoaster. lol exactly the same.. booo

18. Richer or poorer? - So...so so so so so so so..so much poorer. Yes indeed.

19. What do you wish you'd done more of?-  Budget-ed, in every way-  budget  time, money, and life in general.  Perpetually working on achieving that goal.

20. What do you wish you'd done less of? - Can't think, I guess being frivolous, tis my weakness and i could do without it!

21. How will you be spending Christmas? - Well not celebrating it lol. It was last Wednesday, and I went to Todd and Amy's with a bunch of friends and we played games like Mad Gab and cranium and Taboo tons of fun and I can't believe we stayed till like after 12 am.

22. Did you fall in love in 2013? - Nope, but does that matter? I’m still serving Jehovah faithfully, and happy :) lol no love in the romantic sense but I love many friends.

24. What was your favorite TV program? - Dr. Who was pretty much the main thing, then The Office, Seinfeld, or anything on the food network.

25. Do you hate anyone now that you didn't hate this time last year? - Well I do not ever hate anyone at all. I hate how some people act, or choose to make bad selfish decisions that hurt others.

26. What was the best book you read? - The *new* revised lovely silver bible! It was great, the yearbook, I think those were the only book I read this year, shame on me I used to read stacks of books at a time, as I said my time management has been poorly done lately. Gladly been keeping up on all the monthly watchtower and awake magazines :)

27. What was your greatest musical discovery? - I have to say... Bastille, New Politics, and Avicii also loved John Newman "Love me again" and Ola "I'm in love" those two songs I heard in Italy all the time.

28. What did you want and get?- Back to Italy, it always is one of those most relaxing, character building, friend making wonderful experiences.

29. What did you want and not get? - finished living room lol ...ah house under construction isn't easy.

30. What was your favorite film of this year?- Goodness, I barely saw any movies this year, I can't think of anything that stands out at the moment.

31. What did you do on your birthday, and how old were you? - I turned 28, lol as always I don’t remember just another day since I for good reasons do not celebrate my birthday.

32. What one thing would have made your year immeasurably more satisfying? - Well, I think I've said it plenty already, but just more time...in the future I hope to have all the time in the world. But as for now I just didn't get to do half the things I want to do, and I didn't want half the things I did have to do. lol did that make sense?

33. How would you describe your personal fashion concept in 2013? Laid back as always, loved bright colors this year, chucks and flipflops, jeans, tshirts, scarfs bowties are cool...lol

34. What kept you sane? Jehovah, prayer, my family, & friends. Though I was barely sane to start with the beginning of this year.

35. Which celebrity/public figure did you fancy the most? - I don't know,  I liked Matt Smith as the doctor. I can’t deny I think a few are pretty handsome but I don’t fancy any of them lol.

36. What political issue stirred you the most? - Interesting not many stand out,  I did find the health care situation stirring and frustrating for many. This is clearly 'hard times to deal with' in many ways.

37. Who did you miss? - Friends in Italy, a month there went fast, and it's so far away.

38. Who was the best new person you met? So many that I met I can't pick one, I met the most amazing faithful, hard working in Jehovah's service people this year. And the ones in Italy were so spiritually grounded it was refreshing to meet ones that focused on their ministry and making the most of the time that's reduced.

39. Tell us a valuable life lesson you learned in 2013:  Keep you're personal bible study up, never let you're study slip it really helps when trials are upon you :)

40. Quote a song lyric that sums up your year:
"So little time
 Try to understand that I'm
Trying to make a move just to stay in the game
I try to stay awake and remember my name
 But everybody's changing
 And I don't feel the same. " - Keane
