I was incredibly bored in class today while my professor droned on and on about something unimportant and dull. So I did what any sane and awesome person would do: I thought about The Walking Dead and the fics I'm working on, which led to me thinking about fanfiction in this fandom in general, what I want to see, and what I think could make for

The Supernatural thing was interesting. Depending on what circles you hung out in, the feel of the fics really differed. For example, a lot of Wincest tended to be centered in seasons 1-3 when the show was more claustrophobic, as far as family dynamics were concerned. The boys still had the whole wide world to be a part of, but their social sphere was pretty limited. Whereas in more recent fic(though, I haven't read any SPN fic since uh, last year at the earliest) the setting itself is static while Dean and Sam branch out and interact with angels/hunters/demons/etc.
One of the reasons I like TWD is because there's so little to work with, in a way. It has a minimalistic quality to it, in terms of narrative. You have a restrictive universe with tons of possibilities. There are gonna be zombies, there is an apocalypse, but then everything else is up to you. And that's fabulous. You can kill people and not kill people and focus on gore or survival or love epics and all of it works.
So for example, your Shane/Andrea fic is pretty much my Shane/Glenn fic, only Glenn goes off with Shane instead of Andrea. And I guess it's less of a love story and more of a...friendship kind of thing. Only with more sex. Lots more sex. And trust between two human beings. They go off and fight walkers and people and do regrettable things and Glenn helps Shane come back into himself, sort of, while Shane helps Glenn transform and adopt a more survivalist attitude. Which is essentially what happened with Shane/Andrea.
Oh god, the Brokeback fic. When I said working on it, I meant, stalled right after I wrote the sex. 3000 words just sitting there in a document, stagnating. No beginning or end, just a weird kind of middle.
I could say more, because I love everything you've written here, and it's really something that needed to be said. I love this fandom, I do. But there is so very little of it.

Bahahaha regardless of the status of the Brokeback fic (that I long for longingly) it still is the perfect example of the kind of AU I'd read in this fandom as opposed to the boyband story, which would be hilarious to read if it wasn't written seriously.
Holy. Hell. This Shane/Glenn fic sounds like everything I want in a story and more. THAT is what this post was all about. 'Cause that's a pairing that in current canon I'd be like oh puh-leeeeeze. But in this world that you're building, I'd be like, yes that sounds just right. If you're writing the Glenn and Shane run away fic, and I'm writing the Andrea/Shane run away fic...we just need someone to write the Shane and Daryl run away fic...

I won't lie. You make me want to write boyband crack. I'm thinking something Backstreet Boy/Menudo-esque. SHANE IS THE HOT ONE AND RICK IS THE LEAD SINGER AND GLENN IS THE 'CUTE' ONE THAT ALL THE GIRLS WANT TO CUDDLE. THEY GO ON TOUR AND THEIR FANGIRLS ARE PRETTY MUCH LIKE ZOMBIES ANYWAYS.
Or a Shane/Andrea/Glenn runaway fic. 'Cause this fandom is so short on OT3s. I'd take a Shane/TDog runaway fic too. Or Shane/Maggie. Shane/anyone, really. Except maybe Dale and Hershel, but I could be convinced. If someone were to attempt it, I mean. I would definitely click.
