I tucked my files into the proper folder before locking my cabinet and turning around. Lilah was standing in the door way with an amused expression

I laughed but didn't have time to respond to his words. We borded and I leaned back against the back of my seat, turning my head to him.
"I'm not as suave and slick as I pretend to be, I'm sure you've noticed. I'm just a country boy in a nice suit."
I grinned and put my hand with his. "I like the country boy, a lot. If you remember when I met the lawyer I couldn't stand him. The facade and all. I could do without. When you showed me the real you..." I gave his hand a small squeeze. "That's what I like."
I reached up and brushed the hair away from his face before running my hand down his cheek. "Just be Lindsey. Be Mac. That's all I ever asked. No games."
"I like the country boy, a lot. If you remember when I met the lawyer I couldn't stand him. The facade and all. I could do without. When you showed me the real you... That's what I like."
I smiled at her. It was nice to know she apprieciated me.
"Just be Lindsey. Be Mac. That's all I ever asked. No games."
I leaned over and kissed her lightly, pulling back and kissing her forehead.
I kissed him back and rested my head on his shoulder. "Good, games are well..yeah." I sighed and I couldn't help but think about what had happened with Willow. That was just a mess. That was another lifetime ago and it was time to move on.
I reached over into his lap and rested my hand with his before lacing my fingers around his own. "So what's this place like?" I tilted my head up to him. "Never really been anywhere like this before."
"So what's this place like? Never really been anywhere like this before."
I looked over at her.
"I actually haven't been to this place in Tahoe, but I did the research it's pretty quite. The cabin is nice and secluded but not too far away from everything going on in the midst of the resort."
I held her hand in mine, just feeling good with the simple gesture.
"I figure we just wing it, if you want to try skiing, you are the party boss."
I laughed at him. "I can barely rollerskate let alone ski." I turned and looked up at him. "I can swim though. Spent an entire summer in the water." I grinned and wrapped my other arm around his, just laying close to him. It was nice, you know, I didn't feel pressured or anything with him. That was a nice feeling.
"Well, I think we have the wing part right." I laughed and ducked my head against his shoulder, blushing slightly.
"I can barely rollerskate let alone ski. I can swim though. Spent an entire summer in the water."
I chuckled.
"Well if you want to try to ski, we can do that, or not. I think it's a bit cold for swimming, but there is suppose to be a hot tub if you want to take advatange of that."
I gave her a smile.
"Well, I think we have the wing part right."
I laughed.
"I'm not big on plans. I've got my days planned out for me, so I prefer to chill out and just go with it you know?"
I loved her little blush, it was so cute.
"I'm at your disposal Tara, anything you want to do just say the word and we'll work on making it happen. Can't make any promises, but I can always try."
I loved when he laughed. He needed to do that more often, I'd make him laugh even if it meant I ended up cherry red with embarrasment and making a fool of myself. I loved hearing him laugh.
"That sounds good to me." I leaned up and kissed his cheek before resting my head back on his shoulder. "I've a feeling this weekend will be wonderful."
"I'm at your disposal Tara, anything you want to do just say the word and we'll work on making it happen. Can't make any promises, but I can always try."
"I'm the easiest person to please dear Lindsey. I like just spending time with you. This is already more then I could aask for." I sat up and grinned at him, resting my chin on his shoulder. "Hmmm...could make you do a sexy dance." I murmured into his ear, smiling when he blushed just slightly. "Ohhh I know. Quiet dinner, just us two - ok duh - maybe dinner and ummm I want to hear you play. I think I saw you pack your guitar..."
I had to admit, this was new for me. I guess it would be called courting, not to mention actually caring. But the simple gestures, the kiss on the cheek, did more for me than the usual overt flirting most women threw at me.
"Ohhh I know. Quiet dinner, just us two - ok duh - maybe dinner and ummm I want to hear you play. I think I saw you pack your guitar..."
I smiled at her.
"I think that I can manage. In fact I may just have another surprise for you." I winked at her.
I smiled back up at him. "Ohhh surprise? Common Lindsey...tell me." I looked up at him with big eyes, silently hoping he'd tell me.
I heard a ding and the flight atendant announcing that we were arriving in Reno. Slowly and reluctantly I sat up and streched, tossing my hair over my shoulder before looking back at him. "Ok Mr. McDonald, ball's in your court. This is your show."
I sighed and shook my head, taking his hand. "I wish you'd let me carry something." He just gave me a look and I laughed, slipping my fingers between his and holding onto him.
Getting the rental car wasn't so bad, and within twenty minutes we headed out, I pulled my jacket tighter, forgetting how cold it can get, I turned and snickered at him. "Well, we can only hope that they don't give us the car they ended up with in Just Married." I giggled as we headed towards the curb.
I climbed into the passenger side and put my belt on. I smiled over at him. "Sounds planlike to me."
Shifting in my seat I rested my head back and closed my eyes, enjoying the air and the company. "So nice out here." I murmured, feeling the sun on my face.
I suddenly felt a bit sleepy and yawned contently. "Not sleeping, it's nice out, I'm just..."
I watched her out of the corner of my eye she started to drift off to sleep. I was floored at the effect this little slip of a woman had on me.
I was Lindsey McDonald, ruthless lawyer at wolfram & hart. Evil Inc.
I didn't understand how a woman could bring out all the parts of me I'd struggled to keep hidden, in the pure hope that someday I'd be able to be myself again.
Being an employee of their was not an easy task, if I'd only known what I was getting myself into at the beginning.
I couldn't promise Tara my soul, it didn't belong to me. But the thought struck me. I wanted to give it to her, as much as I wanted to keep breathing.
I sighed and turned on the radio low, allowing the SUV to be filled by slow rock music.
After an hour of driving I pulled up to the resort. I got out quietly to check in, not long after I returned, Tara was still asleep. I smiled and headed towards our small cabin tucked away in the woods.

I smiled and rested my hand on her back as we headed off the plane and towards the baggage claim.
"You think I'm going to spoil a surprise after I was able to keep this one for so long?"
I winked at her and grabbed out luggage.
"Let's see what kind of car they stuck us with shall we?"
I managed to carry most of the luggage and have a free hand, so I took hers.

"Let's hope not."
We walked out to the parking garage and I found the car. It was a Jeep Cheroke, I was happy, it gave us pleanty of room, and would travel well.
"The drive shouldn't be too long."
