The day was dragging by like a turtle in a race. I was not in the best mood, Lilah had stormed into my office first thing in the morning asking me what was going on. I honestly had no idea what she was blathering on about, i just wanted to get a few cases on the judges' docket and get out of there, I had a lot to do before I headed over to Tara's place.
She asked me why I was smiling. Lilah really isn't the type to get the hint. You'd think after everything we've been through she'd realize that I don't want her in my professional life, let alone my personal life.
After half an hour of arguing with Lilah I finally just told her to go fuck herself and left the office. My luck she'd have me trailed for a few days, and I certainly didn't want her to find out about Tara. For a few reasons.
I got home and got changed and ready, jeans, t-shirt, my boots. Definately not the guy Tara was used to seeing. I headed out to my truck and thought for a moment. I had a few stops to make.
After about an hour I ended up at Tara's door carrying two arms full of groceries and a bouqet of roses. There was no need for dishes, and something told me this girl would enjoy a man cooking for her.
She opened the door and I grinned. "Hey you."
