On the cab ride home after leaving Lindsey’s office I was fuming. I can’t remember the last time I was so angry. Wait, yes I can. When I confronted Willow about that memory spell she used. That night didn't turn out so great either

If life was ever compared to a movie then this would be a moment that happened in slow motion.
He moved so slowly but it happened so fast that I couldn't move, I didn't move. I didn't want too. He made me curious again, I wanted to see what he'd do next.
He came to me and put his arm around me, I didn't move an inch, I was afraid it would ruin whatever moment we were going to have. My guard was still up but it was weak. It only got weaker when he ran his fingers along my jaw.
He turned me so I was looking up at him, I got lost in his eyes, they were the eyes of the man that I saw on stage that night. His kiss was soft and almost timid, like he was afraid I'd run away or the moment would be ruined. I didn't pull back and he pressed his lips against mine more. I slowly reached my hand up and touched his shoulder when he pulled back.
"Because I knew, that after I did that. There was no turning back, and you terrify me."
I don't know why, I couldn't help it, but I started laughing, I closed my eyes and rested my head on his chest for a moment while I tried to get my self to calm down.
I shook my head and looked up at him. "You're terrified of me? Sorry, that's amusing." I took a deep breath and ran my finger down his cheek. "You don't think you've the same effect on me? I've...this is just intense."
She started to laugh and my heart sank, I was such a fool, and then she rested her head on my chest and I put my chin on top of her head.
She shook her head and looked up at me.
"You're terrified of me? Sorry, that's amusing."
She took a deep breath and ran her finger down my cheek.
"You don't think you've the same effect on me? I've...this is just intense."
I pulled back and looked at her.
"It's been so long since I've felt anything real Tara, really anything but hate. Anything at all, and then you walk into my life. I'm scared that what I am will hurt you, what I do, who I am."
I sighed and looked at her.
"I'm scared because there is no turning back now, none. And no one, no one has ever made me feel the way you have. Except maybe my mother. When I'm with you I'm not afraid, I'm Good old Mac from oklahoma. And my soul isn't doomed."
I pushed some hair out of her face. "But I am the man who sold his soul. I am someone who could taint you with a touch. And you deserve better than anything I could give you."
I put my forehead against hers. "And what scares me even worse. I've known you for what two weeks, and I already want to give you the world."
I stayed silent and listened as he spoke. He wasn't putting on pretenses, he was being honest. I could tell by the look in his eyes, even before he spoke, that he was scared of it. "Hate is a feeling, it's strong and powerful but it's draining. It's a very draining emotion. If you can hate you can..." Love. "Feel other emotions."
"When I'm with you I'm not afraid, I'm Good old Mac from Oklahoma. And my soul isn't doomed."
I closed my eyes when he touched my face, I spoke softly. "Then don't be. Be Mac and let the rest fade for a while. Live a little." I opened my eyes slowly and looked up at him. "Live life now, worry about the minor details later."
I shook my head and ran my hand down his cheek. "You can't taint me Lindsey." I reached down and took his hand in mine, I brought it up to my arm and ran the back of his hand over it. "See, no tainting." I brought his hand up to my cheek. "Still not tainted."
I closed my eyes as we rested our foreheads together. "Sixteen days since you blew into my life and turned it on it's ear." I smiled slightly and shook my head just barely. "Don't give me the world, you need some for yourself. Just..." I sighed. "let me in, let me show you there are some things to enjoy." Part of me wanted to show him the world. Show him there was so much more then what he's been living.
"Then don't be. Be Mac and let the rest fade for a while. Live a little. Live life now, worry about the minor details later."
I gave her a small smile and looked into her eyes. What was it about this woman.
"You'll have to give me time. I am a lawyer, minor details are my life."
"You can't taint me Lindsey."
She reached down and took my hand in hers, She brought it up to her arm and ran the back of my hand over it.
"See, no tainting."
She brought my hand up to her cheek.
"Still not tainted."
I sighed deeply and ran my thumb across her cheek. The sparkle in her eyes drew me in so far I felt as if I couldn't breathe. Never in my life had I been so enraptured by a woman. Usually they flitted by me, in and out of my life without making much of a stir. But not Tara.
"Sixteen days since you blew into my life and turned it on it's ear."
She had counted the days? She smiled.
"Don't give me the world, you need some for yourself. Just let me in, let me show you there are some things to enjoy."
I reached up with my free hand and framed her face with my hands, so soft. I ran my thumb across her light pink lips, then back across her cheek and rooted one hand carefully in her blonde hair.
"That. I can do." I smiled and leaned in carefully, lightly kissing her lips, darting out my tongue to gain entrance. She opened up for me and I slowly massaged her tounge with mine. I gave her all I had in that kiss.
"You'll have to give me time. I am a lawyer, minor details are my life."
"Then let that be, just broaden what you see as minor details." I licked my lips and looked up at him. "Start seeing the good details. It took me a long time and I started too. I'm glad I did." Now I notice when he looks at me he gets this look in his eyes like he's trying to understand me in some way.
I closed my eyes when he touched my face, such warm hands, I could even feel the small rough patches that his guitar playing gave him. That made me smile. Small details. I felt him run his finger over my lips and then into my hair. If he only knew how much I liked that.
"That. I can do."
I smiled and started to say something when I felt his lips on mine again, lightly ghosting over them at first and then he deepened it. I felt his tongue and I darted mine to his. This kiss was different then before, deeper and more in a way. Like he was letting me in, even if it was just for a peak.
I heard a crash in the hall and we jumped, I turned to see a neighbor standing there and glaring at us. "Don't you two have a room or something?! Running around like teenagers in heat. The nerve!" She turned and looked at me. "You don't look like the charging type." She squinted her eyes, looking at me closely. "Then again anything will charge these days..." She turned and headed back to her room down the hall, muttering the entire way.
I sighed and looked down, my face deep red with embarrassment. "Umm..." I was going to invite him in and offer to get Chinese for us or something but now after that I just wanted to be alone and find a corner to hide in.
I gave the woman a glare and she turned and muttered. Maybe I'd have to have a word with George about one of his tennants.
I looked at her, now she was the one who was closed up.
"Umm..."
I put my hands on her shoulders. "Forget her. Most people in L.A. make assumptions about people, as I'm sure you've noticed."
I gave her a smile.
"Most of us are wrong."
I could tell she was very embarrassed. I ran my hands down her arms and took her hands in mine, kissing her knuckles lightly.
"I can go. Give you some time to get settled, think, or whatever you need to do."
Despite the fact that it was the complete opposite than what I wanted to do. I mean I was a man, I did have this strong urge to tear off her clothes, but I knew, Tara wasn't going to be like anyone else. I didn't want her to be.
I smiled when he kissed my knuckles, I looked up at him. "See, small things." I murmured softly.
"I can go. Give you some time to get settled, think, or whatever you need to do."
A small part of me panicked, I was afraid that if he left that this moment, this mood and tone with him would be broken. But the logical part knew better, it told me that things would be ok, eventually. I licked my lips and sighed. "Well..." I bit the corner of my lip and looked into my apartment. I still had a ton of things to do but part of me wanted to spend time with him. I decided to compromise with myself.
I looked up at him. "Yeah, maybe it would be best..." I tucked my hair behind my ear and smiled slightly. "How about come back tomorrow night?" I asked hopefully. "We can..." I tried to think. "I've no idea." I laughed. "We can worry about it then." I smiled and shrugged my shoulders. "I'd offer to cook but I don't even know where my dishes are."
I leaned up on my toes and kissed his cheek, pulling back I touched his face. "I'll see you tomorrow night." I reluctantly pulled back and backed into the apartment, closing the door and leaving him on the other side.
I sighed and rested my head against the door, wondering what I just got myself into.
He moved so slowly but it happened so fast that I couldn't move, I didn't move. I didn't want too. He made me curious again, I wanted to see what he'd do next.
