Hi all,
I checked out the tags and didn't quite find anything that applied..so..
At work, I'm charged with making "e-blasts" for the marketing dept - promotional graphics destined for our customer's inboxes. These are jpeg files sized 720px by 550px and heavy on photos but always including some graphics. I compose them in indesign, export as eps, open the eps in photoshop and use the save for web feature (85% quality) to make a jpeg that is rather hefty - about 200K.
Can someone give me some tips on how to shrink the size of these suckers? I think the target size would be in the neighborhood of 50K. Is this even possible?
I've tried making gifs but the photos look bad and pngs scare me a bit only because i'm not sure if everyone on our list will be able to see the image - is that a totally unfounded concern?
Thanks!
web graphics & compression,
