I have been playing a computer game for three days, even though I'd played it before. I get really bad about them - it's a shame I don't get so focused on useful things. I wonder what the psychoanalytical jargon is for that? Anyway, I am horribly behind on two fanfics and still feel oofy (partly because the Moon is due to Rise (apologies to the more delicate)). I am due to start my fun family holiday of family fun fun on Sunday (yes, missing a crucial three hours of the Test). I have great dread, as I left home at 17 for a good reason and have never gone more than 72 hours with them without an astronomical row. I get like this every Christmas, and mostly it's not too bad, but that's 48 hours in a room, not out on the streets where other people can See.
I saw a documentary the other day about Louisiana bayou music. It was very interesting and the songs were lovely, very sad and somehow groovy. There was also a news film about flood survivors. One man had managed to rescue his dog and was living under a garden awning on a car park. He got up every morning to sweep his bit of car park floor. There was also a woman whose house had blown down who was picking up timbers every day looking for her books and paintings. She said she was lucky. I hope they can sort it out quickly.
There is no air in this room. If anyone is interested in beta-ing me, I'm willing to give it a try. At the moment, I'm planning out a Marauders-era HP fic. I might try blonde hair, except it does make my face look red and old. Oh, the Test starts tomorrow, good luck to them. It is odd, because I can't seem to support the England football team. I prefer Wales. even laughed this evening. I used to think it was because there were too many United players in the squad, but that doesn't explain Ryan Giggs. I'm fine with his dual role, but Rooney just makes me sneer.
I am stupidly behind with the daily "Smallville"s. I have to keep forwarding to the end of the block I'd just started to watch in order to tape the latest episode in the right order. I've also been watching the last series of "Oz". It's pretty good. They seem to have got rid of some of the sillier plots. It's funny that non-genre but genre-shaped shows like "Oz" and "The OC" have to put people in really silly situations to get the most from the characters, whereas Sf can just get on with it. Not that it always does.
