It's been absolutely crazy for me lately, and I haven't really been posting. Usually I would post at night between picture editing, but my computer is acting up so badly that it won't allow me to run Internet Explorer for the most part. I am so tired of that pile of poop computer.
So the plan is this: in the next couple of weeks, I plan to get my business license. I am super excited, but also a little worried about taxes and all of that stuff. I am sure it will turn out fine, but I still worry. Shortly after getting the license, I intend to apply for a $6000 or $7000 business loan. With that money, I will purchase a new Mac laptop to work from, a new Canon 5D, a fish-eye lens, new compact flash cards, external hard drives, and whatever other things are absolutely necessary to get this business going properly. I am not counting the $1700 lens that I will be purchasing in the next couple of months because I am paying for it with the money I am making right now and all of the deposits from the weddings I have coming up. And there are SO many weddings coming up. Can't wait.
Valentine's Day was nice - I made steak and mashed potatoes and stuff, and we had a nice evening in. I received flowers, my favorite candy, and lotion from Bath & Body Works. This past weekend I went to Southern Cali to Vandenberg AFB to shoot Anita and Eric's wedding, and that was SUPER fun. Except for my hangover on Sunday, of course. Hangovers on travel days are never good! I didn't eat properly for days after that.
I almost forgot - boudoir business is absolutely booming. I had five shoots the week before Valentine's Day. This pleases me immensely due to the fact that boudoirs are my forte. As my name gets further out there, more and more people are realizing that boudoirs are SO awesome to have done. I am so excited. I would love for boudoirs to become a common year-round thing for me.
The boyfriend and I are having an anniversary soon here, and he is planning a surprise trip. Hmmmm... Wonder what it will be? He got over a thousand back on taxes, so it will be nice to have the extra money to spend on that stuff, but I am kinda not in the same boat. Every photo job gets me closer to my new lens, so I am not spending that on extra stuff. All other monies go toward bills and paying back my 1st month and deposit on this place. And Tariah's birthday is next month, so it will be fun to see how that goes. I already bought her one gift, but she needs four or five more and I have to buy decorations and snacks and such.
Whew.
