Painting - yay!

I don't know if I posted about this, but my house is VERY white!!! It needs some color, but we have not gotten a chance to paint anything because the house is a mess and we aren't even close to being unpacked yet. Well, tonight I went to Wally World and picked up some paint to do the family room. I want to get it all done by the time that Blaine gets home on Friday so that I can surprise him. I am not sure how I am going to do it because Thayana makes it hard for me to get much done sometimes, but I am going to try. Plus, Tariah is at Papa's house until Friday, so I had better take advantage of the time I have without her. I love painting, too - it is so calming and such a peaceful activity. (Amy, if you are free, I could use your help!)

It is funny how raging hormones can make you feel different about your children from one month to the next. While I was preggo with Thayana, I wondered how I would ever love Thayana as much as I loved Tariah. When I popped the kid out, I wondered if I would get the feelings back that I had for Tariah. Now, I love them both so much and I feel that I don't have enough minutes in the day to show them each that love. Tariah is getting so big and more and more beautiful by the day, and Thayana's smiles have begun to light up my life in the past couple of weeks. She started smiling during her waking hours at about four weeks, which seems a bit early to me. She smiles in reaction to Blaine and I, and we are really getting a kick out of it. I wonder if this is a reflection of her future personality? I am certainly one lucky mommy.

I spent some time in Sac this week, and I was surprised at how much I didn't want to be there. I now consider Yuba City my home, and I am loving it so much. I went in early Tuesday to take care of my fix-it ticket and failure to appear in court (there was $300 down the drain!), and then Marrissa and I went out for lunch and some Christmas shopping. I got Dora's Talking House on sale for Tariah, and then got Thayana an Incrediblock. For spending over $75, I received a free $10 gift card at Toys R Us. I am going to use it to get Thayana some extra Peek-A-Blocks for the Incrediblock. At Target, I found another picture to hang in the family room, and a gorgeous beaded table runner for the formal dining room. The design on the runner is not symmetrical (enough to drive a perfectionist like me NUTS!), but Blaine likes it so I am going to keep it.

People keep asking me what Thayana’s name means, and one of Blaine’s co-workers came up with a way to figure it out last weekend. I took her name and dissected it, then looked up the meanings for the two parts. Thea means “gift of God”, and Ana means “gracious”. When you put them together, “gracious gift of God” doesn’t bother me one bit! In fact, I believe it is quite fitting. Now to find a meaning for Tariah’s name! When I tried to look up the parts of her name, I couldn't really find them. I looked up Mariah ("bitter", or "God is my teacher") and Soraya ("princess"), and decided that it just wouldn't work. I wouldn't mind the meaning for Soraya since I originally was going to name her that, but her name starts with a T, not an S. I guess I will just have to make up my own or go with a combo like "Princess who's teacher is God". Hee hee. :-)

Here are the stats for this week, which look pretty good considering I took TWO days off!!! God, I love this diet! And I am SO not worried about taking Thanksgiving off next week.
