Title: Suddenly impulsive
Author: granitemouth
Pairing: OnKey
Genre: fluff
Rating: pg
Summary: Except for shopping and a certain Lee Jinki, Kim Kibum wasn’t impulsive at all, originally.
Notes: I’m not even sure of Key is OC, but he’s showing dominant traits of a Virgo. And Jinki’s cute with him. X333

It's just that Kibum doesn't eat chicken-or anything greasy for that matter-after six o’clock.

However, there he was with Jinki, chewing on a torn chicken skin that the older boy had handed him just a few seconds before he devoured the last piece of the bucket meal.

And he thought that he had that great of self-control. Although astrologists would argue that 99% of their zodiac sign readings are accurate, the 1% shows an exception still, especially for Kibum, after a certain Lee Jinki entered his life.

Virgos were artist; visual people that carry an air of elegance and are always at their best. They are proud people who use their skills and talents, calculated at most, on how it would benefit them.  They live with their mind and often give a cold impression to people. But this is purely because mistakes are unacceptable matters to them. Perfection is always the goal.

And Kibum had always found an amusement for this fact written on the stars, and he had always thought of himself obsessive on details before the bigger picture.

He chose his words well and has formulated the perfect persona on TV; that diva Key or whatyoumayevercall it, he was the Almighty Key who can everything well, and secretly, obsessively so.

And not to be forgotten, he was the "umma" who kept everything inside the dorm intact, if only Jonghyun would lay off his nerves once in a while, and stop deliberately throwing his things everywhere like a snake. Taemin and Minho are the ideal sons, who do their homework when he tells them to. With a single eyebrow raised and a spatula threatening a direct hit on their foreheads, the two youngest scurry to their rooms, forcing their will and fear for Kibum, behind their heads and textbook.

Jinki's case was different. He didn't chose so, he just really happen to break Kibum's time-table of what to do and perfect how-to's, just because he was Jinki; the one with the so-called "condition", their leader, and somebody older than him; the Sagittarius that radiates optimism even in the face of endangering his image and self. How many times in a day does the “tofu” fall down, in which Kibum has the unfortunate destiny of witnessing every single time? And every time too, Kibum would deny that Jinki’s smile, while saying an assuring I’m okay~ , relieves him off a thousand knives that thrust his heart upon the sight of the man on the floor, again and again.

So Jinki falls more often than he expects him to, it was nothing new at all. But Kibum doesn't know why he was suddenly willing to sacrifice a wound on his face just to catch the older boy before he hit the edge of their cabinet, or trip because of a carpet, or wound himself with a glass, just because Jinki would sometimes attempt at doing housework with him.

He also doesn't know why he was suddenly on rival with Minho to wake up at dawn, just so he would be the one to wake up their sleepy-head hyung, whom wasn't the easiest person to please with a sunny day waiting, and much more when it's a cold day.

And Kibum wasn’t also aware why it was suddenly easy to trash his grocery list and break their given budget for the week for snacks, just to sneak in Jinki's favorites, and worse a box of chicken nuggets again to feed the leader's obsession for the taste. Strangely, he has started craving for it too. This was usually at midnight-Wednesday-when they would sneak a movie in the DVD, while the others skip off to never-never land.

It's not that Kibum can't say no to the guy, his mind always nags him to stay away even, and curses Lee Jinki to heaven when he smiles and touches him innocently at places he should not feel heavenly warm; that warmth that spreads all over him and makes his knees wobble.

Well, at least he still had the decency to wobble in private. And it’s good he has learned the art of poker-face, and Lady Gaga's song, too.

Kibum didn't want to think Jinki's any more special to him than the other members. After all, they are a group and no favoritism should exist. Other than having a great voice and some personal talents to be proud off, Jinki was least of Kibum's taste for a lover.

For his first love, he had these set of fantasies.

He wanted that person to be somebody like himself. Somebody fashionable, sensitive but definitely logical on decisions, keen on details and can carry him or herself well. Truth to be told, if he had the chance, he would marry Key instead.

And for his first kiss, he wants it to be romantic: after a meal in a fine dining restaurant, a walk at the Han River bank would be ideal; air cold and crisp on the skin, and the feeling would sustain the heat. He wanted to hear something nice whispering upon his ears, like perhaps his heartbeat, unsteady, but happy and raring to confess. Then there should be lights; blurry but glowing at the distance, painting a photographic night scene at the background. Then their bodies would inch slowly towards each other, for that one, perfectly angled, kiss.

But when Onew said, I like you once, expression crestfallen upon Key's blank face at him, he stopped calculating his acts, or the choice of words he should have with that kind of situation, and just grabbed Jinki by the collar to pull him close and smack their mouths together. The kiss was sloppy, hurried, and hungry. So much for gargling a whole bottle of mouthwash, he now tastes like chicken, too.

And there weren’t even any photographic lights available, just fireflies that filled the backyard of their dorm. It wasn't that close to how Kibum had written his fantasy in his mind, but it was good enough; simple but certainly and strangely beyond the romantic he knows of. His feeling was in sync with Jinki's heartbeat, he found out, when he embraced the leader again, as he adjusted and gripped with his new reality.

"I don't even eat chicken after six. You're responsible for this." Kibum whispered to Jinki who was probably smiling silly like him.

But Kibum thought, that he might have been just whispering not to Jinki, but perhaps more to himself. Being impulsive has never been troublesome, thrilling, and euphoric at the same time.

Kibum shook his head, unbelieving of the events.

It was pass six o'clock already when he finished eating the last of the chicken that was given by Jinki, and abruptly stood up from his place.

The older man looked up from his focus of food to Kibum and asked, "Where are you going?" while licking his fingers like a child, savoring the taste of his favorite food.

"Hyung...Let's buy some more."

Kibum smiled, and Jinki couldn't be happier.

AN:

Ahahah~ I don’t know what to make of this story, since I think I’m still lacking details despite the length of the story already. It was supposed to be a drabble (attempt fail) yet here we are.

Anyway, If I'm not mistaken, in the western astrology, Key's birthday falls on the Virgo sign. And I was too lazy to detail on the characteristic of one, but knows enough since two of my best friends has the same sign. They have close characteristics to our dear, diva. ^^
