Authors Notes: This kept growing and growing and... I'm actually not that happy with it (way too sappy, and random for me, personally). But I said I'd post the last part, so I am. :)

Part One is here.

Part Two is here.

A banging on the door to Severus' room distracted Hermione from saying anything further.

“Hermione! I know you're in there! Snape whatever potion or, or... hex she's under we'll find out!” Ron said, his fist banging on the wood as he spoke.

Hermione groaned and put her head onto Severus' chest. “Can I hex him?” she said, half serious.

Severus put a hand on her back, rubbing in soothing circles for a moment. “If you want,” he replied. She could hear the smirk in his reply. “Time to face the boggart, I suppose.”

“Ronald is your boggart?!” Hermione asked, bemused.

~*~*~

“Well no, but it's a close run thing,” he said tucking a stray strand of hair behind her ear. “I mean all that red hair and the freckles....” He faked a shudder and Hermione put a hand over her mouth to keep from giggling.

He smiled - one of the rare real ones that only she saw - and turned to approach the door, taking Hermione's hand in his own as he did.

“Ready?” he asked, one eyebrow lifted in question.

Pulling herself together, she nodded and he opened the door to a red faced Weasley and a quietly simmering Harry Potter.

~*~*~

“Gentlemen,” Severus began, and all sound from Ron ceased. “If you'd be so kind as to stop imitating a pair of baboons...” he trailed off as Ron grew redder.

“Yes,” Hermione broke in, fed up of all the arguments and denials, and knowing that Severus was more likely to just antagonise them further. “We're more than friends and I tried to tell you what I did because I thought it'd be what you wanted to hear.”

She looked from Ron to Harry and back again, her hand tightening around Severus' as she saw the varying emotions running across their faces.

~*~*~

Stepping forward, she grasped the door and released her hold on Severus' hand as she turned to speak to him, “I'll be one minute.”

Closing the door she stood and folded her arms in front of the boys. “Well?” she prompted, as they just looked at her in silence.

Harry coughed, his face growing a little pink and Ron spluttered, “But, but, 'Mione! He's so old!”

Hermione paused. “Anything else?” she continued, looking to Harry again.

Harry, knowing when he ought to let something be, shrugged and although he didn't look happy she knew he'd not play up about it.

~*~*~

Hermione listened for a few moments as Ron complained and, when he finally ran out of breath, she smiled.

“Don't you think we know that?” she asked. “We've been though all that ourselves. Multiple times. We don't need reminding.”

Ron ran a hand over his face, frustrated.

“Listen, I know you two aren't exactly... overjoyed about this, but it's happening. I'd like to stay friends with you - this doesn't need to affect that.”

Ron looked at his feet and Harry sighed. “I'll talk to you later,” she added slipping back into Severus' room leaving them stood in the dim hallway.

~*~*~

Her back against the door, Hermione sighed and then smiled as her lips were met by another pair.

“Mmm, Severus,” she sighed, tension ebbing out of her.

“Okay?” he asked, his voice low.

She nodded. “Or at least it will be soon.”

Slowly he backed them up until he sat on the edge of the bed, Hermione stood between his spread legs as they kissed.

“It's not like much will change,” she mused as they broke apart for air. “Everything we do will still be behind closed doors.”

“Yes, and that 'everything' is something I'd rather like to practice now....”

Finis.
