"Yes?" she called back.
"Don't you already own a copy of 'Tthe Arithmancer's Gattica'?" He pushed his way through shoppers to her side.
Hermione looked at him, exasperated. "I have two other copies, Severus. One someone took his quill to and made notes in it. The other is propping up your lead cauldron."
He flushed.
"And," she continued, "I need the Gattica if I'm going to be able to complete the course for my mastery."
"But you've got Mastery in Charms and Transfiguration already!"
"I like school - buy a new cauldron, or I'm buying this book!"
