I’m entirely blaming junewilliams7 for the gaping wound on my left heel for she has been sharpening the plot bunny’s fangs. (I've had a busy day, but I will endevour to get more of this out tomorrow.)
Hermione woke with a start; her heart beating furiously within her chest, her blood rushing vociferously through her ears as she tried to calm her breathing.
Her body ached for him. Her soul screamed into the darkness for her mate; for Severus.
As her breathing calmed she looked around, gathering her bearings.
Not for the first time she’d fallen asleep at her bureau, pieces of paper obscured every inch of available surface.
She stared at a Muggle birth certificate - a starting point.
Minerva had been somewhat reticent; Kingsley had been downright obstructive.
She had to start somewhere - Manchester was logical.
