Severus hated Christmas. He hated the holiday fever that infected all students. He hated being expected to be full of good cheer. And he absolutely hated Secret Santa.
The bloody hat had paired him with the new Arithmacy professor- Miss Know It All Granger.
He could ignore it and be in Minerva's bad books for the year, not to mention Miss Granger's.
He could buy her a cheap gift and risk Granger refusing to help brew.
He could buy her something nice and risk her reading too deep into his motives.
Or perhaps she might just decide to thank him.
Hermione loved Christmas. She loved the holiday fever that permeated the castle and made it come alive. She had more fun at Hogwarts over the holiday than she ever had at home. And she absolutely loved Secret Santa.
Hermione blushed when she found out she was paired with the Greasy Git.
There was no question of her not buying him something. She wondered if he’d ever received a Christmas gift.
The question was what to buy. Hermione spent weeks deciding.
She hoped he wouldn’t snark at her.
Or throw it away.
