“Please,” she says, determined to look him in the eye and remind him she’s human. Surely, it must be more difficult to cut open one who stares back.
MacNair tilts his head to the side, considering this. No, it isn’t any more difficult. She can only be so lucky.
“Please…”
It is moments before the rest of the Revel will discover them. Seconds in which he could dispatch, dispose of her, and have his sick pleasure too.
He lets go of her hand.
“Tell Severus he’s repaid.”
