He didn’t shift his head in her lap, but his eyes fluttered open.
“No. I was a coward. I fear-losing-those I love.”
“Killing” writhed silently in mid-air.
“They still call me a Know-it-all.”
“Well, what is your greatest fear?”
Her fingers threaded tighter through his.
Around them, the shadows lengthened.
