Minerva McGonagall sat behind the large ornate oak desk.
“Well,” she sighed “Which one of you is man enough to take over the reins of this school from me.”
Husband looked at wife, wife shrugged her shoulders.
“Oh for the love of all the Lemon drops Albus Dumbledore consumed in his life, will one of you damn fools accept or decline this offer. I would like to be young enough to enjoy my retirement.”
“I would love to accept you offer, Minerva, but I must decline, leaving Hermione the obvious choice to succeed,” Severus inclined his head.
“What... ”

“You decline to be Headmaster... Why?” Hermione questioned Severus.
“My little nymph, Emily is due to start here in seven years time. Do you not think that she would have a better chance of being treated fairly if her mother is Headmistress?” He replied calmly.
“Anyway,” he continued “with you as Headmistress, I have plans for that desk...” he turned and winked at Hermione lasciviously.
Hermione blushed, knowing full well what her husband might have in mind.
“That’s all well and good, but what are the parents going to make of me becoming Headmistress at the tender age of 32?”

“Why, my dear, they will expect nothing but the best from you. After all you are still an over achieving Gryffindor Know-it-All.”
Severus dodged his wife’s attempts to land a playful punch on him. With his cat like reflexes he had Hermione pushed against the wall, planting a firm kiss on her cheek. Hermione turned her face to meet his lips, seeking his mouth. Moments later she pulled away.
“Well, Mr Snape, I believe you’ve just earnt yourself a months worth of detention, with the Headmistress in her office, from September 1st this year.”
Severus smirked before emitting a laugh.
