Severus Snape was a frustrated man who was at the end of his rope.
He had washed the dishes without being asked to. He had taken out the rubbish without her shrill voice echoing in his ears (“I told you it was your turn this week!”). He had made sure that her beloved pet now had a clean box for his refuse. He had even cooked dinner for them both. Finally, unable to take it any more, he put his fork down and frowned at his wife. “Hermione?”
No response.
“I'm sorry.”
She smiled. “You're forgiven.”
That's all it took?
