How can looking forward to an event and watching it for twenty-four hours wear us out so much? Dear Oatmeal and I enjoyed the whole Inaugural but have been dead tired ever since. It may be partly because our weather has changed and "the storm door is open" so our various arthritic joints are complaining. We need the rain and snow.
There's not much to report. My son Duffy and his family are on their way to ski at Dodge Ridge this weekend with Devin's girlfriend and her father. That resort is not up I-80 so we won't see them. My second daughter and her son are back from spending three weeks on an island off Cancun with friends. They already live at the beach but go to the same warm place every January. We haven't even been over to see my daughter that lives only seven minutes away this week but have kept cyberspace busy between our homes.
The first chapter of Ginny's Sixth Year is supposed to be posted at Phoenix Song sometime this weekend. I'm still revising the chapters that are Molly's reaction to the Battle of Hogwarts and the summer after. The Monica's Memories story that I wrote for St Margarets is going to be a "missing moment from another POV". I've started the character timelines for Ginny's Seventh Year but am still making plot decisions before I actually start writing. This is a good time to read Ginny's Fifth Year all at one time.
