As I anticipated, the talk has begun about how the catastrophic and life-threatening spinal injury suffered by NFL player Kevin Everett is “putting things into perspective” for so many associated with pro football.
Well, yeah, it kinda does. Life can take a shit on you, but the world keeps turning, and the season goes on as if nothing happened.

What's with the rhetoric? If life is more important than pro football, why do we have pro football?
In my unsolicited opinion, the more impressive honest truth would be if all these people would just say “sucks to be you” and keep moving rather than go through all this dramatic styled-for-the-media hand-wringing as though they were actually concerned with something other than the bottom line. They shouldn’t pretend that they’re not throwing these guys under the bus.
