distant_dreamer and I react to the most recent spoilers (minor spoiler under the cut):
Lesley: I still think she'd go after Izzie
Aubri: I hope so
Aubri: I mean, she's holding her shoes!
Aubri: Maybe Izzie going down the stairs is symbolic to her descent into the underworld aka the morgue
Lesley: lol
Aubri: or whatever.... I'm babbling
//
Aubri: OMG! fandom crossover!!!!
Look-- I'm being silly, okay? I don't seriously believe this. But things are funny when you get only 3 hours of sleep. And right now? This is freaking hysterical... to me.
So Phantom of the Opera and Grey's Anatomy have a few uncanny similiarities:
Izzie's blonde. Canon!Christine is blonde. They're both drawn to a corpse. Denny's on his way to becoming one, while Erik is percieved as one. Both have rapid fangirls-- "OMG, i wont watch season tree of grey's b/c leik they killed Denny!!1!!1" and I won't even start the Erik!fangirl sentence, because it's just too painful for words.
If we're to believe said spoiler of Izzie going to hang out with her love in the morgue is true, then we have another direct parallel! Way to go Izzie, you living bride you!
Don't for get Raoul, who fandom calls a fop. And how many people in Grey's just hate Alex because he's "so mean!" Raoul is a far better option for Christine, but everything's too messed up for her to realize it until we've reached finality. I swear, there's nothing funnier in Phantom Phandom than finding people who claim Raoul's an alcoholic wife-beater. But I digress...
Then we have Meredith as our Meg-- the character that fandom regards as the slut ballerina. Meg (Meredith) becomes a Baroness (attending) by marriage to someone (Derek) above her station (intern). It's also interesting to note that Meg's mother, Madame Giry (Ellis) is employed (bedded) by opera managers (Richard). The surprisingly absent Monsieur Giry (Thatcher) is also interesting to note.
Yeah, this is mostly a joke, because I can only take this parallel so far. But was it ever fun to laugh about!
(Except now Lesley thinks I'm insane...)
