It was nice to take a break from those long and lonesome days being the CEO of the New York branch of one of the worlds largest law firms. But law wasn't the reason she was the CEO, the reason was because of her friend Angel, the reason was because she knew about the real things that happened in this world. But today she wanted to have some time to herself, to sit back, relax and reflect on her life.
She'd spent most of the morning shopping and doing all those things that women loved to do, but now she was sitting outside a coffee shop with a coffee sitting before her and a newspaper on the table before her.
Fred was pretending to read but she was actually watching people living their lives. L.A had been her life, it was where her friends were, those she called family, but then the war had come and she was transported here somehow or another. And the strange thing was, this didn't seem to be her own dimension. She had met a Wesley once and he was convinced she was dead.
But she didn't think about that, it seemed so long ago, back in her own dimension, when she was going to be married. No-longer did she wear Wesley's ring on her finger, it now hung on a chain around her neck.
Finishing her coffee she stood to leave and her purse dropped out of her bag, but she didn't realise and carried on walking.
