Well, my silly cheek is still definitely pink, but it's not the angry red that it was. I still itch on my face, head, neck and shoulders, all areas that are normally exposed when outside in a v-neck shirt, but not as badly as it did. To keep from scratching, I put ice on it which calms the itching. Wonder what did it? Hmmmmm. Of course, when you have pets that go outside a bit, there's no real way to pin down what did it or where it came from or how soon it will be gone. Also, until I get the new stuff put into my car A.C., I drive with the windows down and that side is the one most exposed to whatever is blowing through the air and it's the side that is most affected. At least it is basically localized and not spread all over.
A 'cool' front moved in on the back of a front, bringing a bit of rain Thursday night and supposedly now we are having the cooler Spring temperatures that we were supposed to be having instead of the blazing summer heat we had. Yesterday only got up to about 70 degrees which is what we'd been having for our 'cooler night time' temperatures. It was only 41 degrees out there when I got up this morning.
I was reminded by Caren's post of her kitty hiding under the bedspread: I have now had to go back and 'wrap' the cushions of the love seat in a doubled sheet, UNDER the quilted cover, because Scrapper has discovered she can climb up under the quilted cover onto the loveseat cushions, and sleep. Try coming in and plopping on a lumpy loveseat and hearing the loud, feline protests. Robin saw it last time she was over and couldn't get over it. One thing is for sure, if she's NOT supposed to do it, Scrapper is GOING to do it! She is fearless and most adventuresome!
Robin mentioned how it was a shame that you go buy something nice and then have to cover it so that no one ever sees it. The main reason I bought it was because the old set had started sagging really bad and provided absolutely no support for my back and I felt, was actually contributing to the problem. If I'm warned ahead of time that 'company' is coming, I can take the coverings off and all is pretty and pristine again. I just feel I have a very 50's living room now except I didn't cover it in plastic!
It's a toss up though as to which is worse, sitting on a seat only to have it come alive loudly under you or go into the bathroom to apply your makeup and have a cat suddenly come tearing out of the cabinet. She also loves to pull that cabinet door open just enough to climb in and sleep on those towels under there but if you come in and start running water in the sink over her head, she bolts out suddenly at your feet!
#2 Grandson (chronologically) is coming tomorrow afternoon to till my garden for planting. I will try to change out the clamps on the mower gas line while he is here. That will serve two purposes: 1) If he gets in trouble with the tiller, I will be right there to help, and 2) if I get in a bind with the clamps he will be right there to help. I hate to ask anyone to do anything like that on a Sunday but that is his only day off each week and it's the day he volunteered to come over. I hope this cooler weather holds so we will both be comfortable while working. It will be good to get the garden planted and (hopefully) the mower repaired. Still have to put a charge on the battery for it (or buy a new one). My good neighbor says he doesn't fool with charging them, he just goes and gets another one as he feels they're cheap enough to prevent him having to work at putting a charge on it. I think in the future I'm going to try disconnecting the negative cable, at least over the winter (if I can remember!). I've heard that keeps the batteries from discharging.
