I love it when
zip lies on the floor and licks her catnip gerbil. She looks so happy, lying there, licking and biting it. I wish I were a cat. They don't have to slave away at a job just to put food on their table. People do it for them. People love them just because. Cats don't have to change their habits to placate someone. They don't have to contantly be wondering "when is he going to dump me?" They don't worry about bills or job interviews or if their neighbors are going to get high on crack and accidentally burn the apartment down in the middle of the night. Nor are they concerned with saying the wrong thing to the girl they like and ruining a chance at a relationship. If they want to be touched, all that is required is to walk up to someone and touch them, and even that isn't always necessary.
When is the last time you walked by a cat and didn't pet her? When is the last time you walked by a human and didn't pet her? I bet the answers are no where near the same. Go, now, and put your arms around someone and tell them that you care. Or call them. Or e-mail them. Scratch his chin and tell him that you love him simply because he will let you love him. Some of us don't have anyone to scratch, so be thankful if you do, and don't miss any chance to show your appreciation. Loving someone is easy. Hell, I've been in love constantly since I can remember. It's just that usually there's no one on the other end. Loving is easy. Being loved is the tricky part.
Life is short, and there's nothing afterwards, so love someone while you still have the chance. Maybe you'll be lucky and they'll love you in return.
