Yeah, it really bugs me that so many people can come here and live illegally and get what they haven't paid for while legal American's cover the bill and get little in return. :/
True, in which case, it depends on the circumstances. There are people out there who can't work. I have a friend who has adult onset MS, and it's impossible for her to keep a job because her symptoms are so erratic that she can be fine one day, and have extreme vertigo or other problems the next. So I'm all for footing the bill for people who honestly can't work, but for people who can, not so much.
Oh darn, LiveJournal doesn't have a "like" button. Well consider this liked! I was going to post this very same thing on my own LJ, but decided not to waste my time. Right-wingers are not going to like it no matter what because the name Obama is attached to it and there's not a thing, no matter how many actual facts you give, that will convince them otherwise. Hatred, ignorance, and bigotry run too deep in certain parts of this country.
It doesn't have to do with Hatred, Ignorance or Bigotry. It has to do with MONEY. Specifically MY MONEY and what it is going to cost me.
And being lied to, many, many times about it.
Believe what you want, the truth will be told on April 15, 2015.
Truth is I do have a pre-existing condition and have been denied coverage before. That doesn't change the fact of it that I'm only working 20 hours a week right now. I've already lost my house and filed bankruptcy. There isn't much more for me to loose and this bill just added another expense I cannot afford. And too many other working Americans can't afford it either.
I don't like the obama plan either, but I think it's better than what we had. If it was up to me we would hugely increase the tax on the rich and corporations, close the loopholes, and have a health system like the UK - national healthcare for those who want it, private healthcare for those who prefer to pay for it out of their own pockets.
It was just me posting some stats someone else calculated that shows the difference between a regular taxpayer employee vs. an undocumented illegal worker being paid under the table. The accountant in me was impressed that someone took the time to do all that math.
Much like my last post, the numbers don't lie, it's pretty black and white.
well if it was math stuff I would never read it anyways. lol. good to be back! I hope to be on more now that I have l j mobile. see ya around the webs!
