With the lovely dump of snow that we got earlier this week we had to go out and play in it...and so we did! We (Phil, Amy, & I) went to Annie's (from Austraila) house and had a crazy time playing in the snow...well until it got too dark for us to play!
But before we got to Annie's Phil and I had to wait at the train station for a while so we entertained ourselves by sliding down the stroller ramps on the stairs from leading down from the station. (Look at the picture it clarifies what I am talking about. People walk the stroller down and it goes on the ramp and they walk on the stairs in between...really a smart thing...they are all over. Anyways...) Phil was really good at the whole sliding thing and we had a fun time taking videos of him sliding and from different places etc. I however was not at all gifted in the sliding and on my first try I completely bailed and fell at the bottom in a huge heap! (The picture was taken before the big fall.) It was quite the sight. I have the whole thing on video to make it worse so we watched my fall over and over. Really it is quite priceless and I am considering leaving it on my camera just for when I need to have a good laugh! Also if you really want to see the clip I can email it to you. It is only 7 sec so it is small but really quite entertaining!
The other picture is of the very Swedish boots I was wearing and of course the Maple leaf...which I did not have to pic from somewhere especially for the photo. It was in some snow that was thrown at me and then, of course, I just had to take a picture. The boots in the leaf picture are Annie's and the white ones in the other picture are the new ones that I just bought today. (And funny, thing, the brand name in them is Canada Snow. All these Canadian things...!) They are not the most Swedish looking because they do not have any fur at the top but they are high and you can wear your pants tucked into them which is how they wear them here. Although I made sure that you can also wear them with your pants over top...just in case! And they are a bit more practical than the ones with the fur because they are leather so I can wear them in the snow and my feet will not get wet. Also note the good water proof sole etc, etc.
This is Annie making a snow angel. She was the only one really prepared for playing in the snow...and she was the only one that did not end up in the 'partially to completely soaked' range. I avoided rolling, and jumping in the snow as much as possible until I put my camera away and then got attacked! And, smart Grace, I ran onto the deck and got myself cornered. The above pic is a reenactment picture...after I had already been blasted with snowballs. My glasses were quite filled with snow by then!
Jag älskar snö! I love snow! Well not so much now as it is melting and beginning to be a bit of a slushy mess...meaning I will have to wait to wear my new boots. I need a good blanket of snow because they are white and I don't want to dirty them the first time that I wear them!
