Crazy few days...
My life has been insanely hectic- thank you NJ legislature and finals!
Friday worked sucked. One of our sister agencies decided to raise major problems with one of our bills that we've been working on getting passed for almost a year. Not only that, it's a major, major priority to my boss...she sung my praises just last week...now this happens. Met with the fuckers this morning, and that's what they are-fuckers. This one guy apparently wrote NJ's UCC- he's old as hell, and even feistier--sat down with him and basically we just argued back and forth for an hour. Almost everyone else stayed silent. I'm not sure who "won," but it's clear this is a policy call that has to be made above my pay grade, and I'm pretty sure it's been made.
As if that wasn't enough, the damn chair of the senate committee met with a sneaky manufacturing group friday, AFTER we finally came to an agreement between the business industry, us and the sponosors. WTF. They made another amendment to our bill. I'm not totally pleased, but at least the bill's now going to the Senate floor, and will hopefully be law in a few weeks. Finally!!!
On to Con Law...so my outline is 99 pages long. Ick. Friday night I went to Tom's and studied for 6 hours. Then we spent the last hour hysterical over Jon Stewart's new book. Saturday I woke up to take my roommate to the airport early, left my purse and phone in the car, and passed out til 2 pm. brilliant. I still had Tom's property notes--oops, and I knew he wanted. Finally drove over and left them with the guard at the gate and headed to NYC to meet up with 5 or 6 classmates. The study group was successful and we even managed to have fun and down some beers. I realized I know more than I thought I did. Then went out for a bit longer to a real bar, but felt so guilty about not studying that I just couldn't have fun, so I went home...
Back in JC I thought it was a perfect time to go through a huge tupperware box of clothes...discarded most of it but found a few cute things I forgot about.
Sunday got up at 10, brought donuts and coffee over and studied at Tom's alllll freaking day. Finally at 10 pm we quit and played poker til 12. I lost all my money. Good thing it was fake ;)
Today I'm heading back to his house, trying to get out of this place a bit early to get more work done...except now I may have to come in Thursday to testify on a bill. WTF. I need off biotches! haha. Thankfully I'm only working today and tomorrow. Off W-F. Same thing next week, except have a mornign meeting next Thursday in Trenton. Other than that, one more day til all-studying-all-the-time.
