(no subject)
I am freaking exhausted. Work is insane, but I'm doing a kick-ass job, in my humble opinion :) Monday we have more bills up in the Senate- jeesh! no rest for the weary.
So I met with the head of career services the other night- she said if I keep up my grades, I'll have my pick of jobs. SWEET! I am now debating what to do this summer. I'd really, really, REALLY like to try and get a summer associateship at a big firm in the city, or northern nj--preferably one that pays on a 1l's pay scale :D Only problem is taking time off. July and August I could totally take a leave of absence...the problem is June. Typically my boss testifies before the Senate and Assembly on the budget in June, and often that absolutely falls on me...Hmm. Actually, I just looked at my schedule last year and those 2 hearings were in May. There was only one committee hearing in June that I had to deal with. I'm thinking that if I can strike some kind of deal, where I'm working on stuff for them on the weekends, at least for June, maybe they'll go for it...
On second thought, maybe I'll quit my job if I land a summer associateship, keep all the money from that--it should be about $6k or more per month...times 3 months= no need to work beyond part-time work the next year- could just finish up school...wow, that is one hell of a tempting thought.
The good news is that I have a lot of options...which also is the bad news. I hate being so damn indecisive. Makes me insane!! I think I'll take a trip over to HR and see what they think :)
Last night we hit up the lamppost for karaoke- Nic and I ROCKED singing Faith. hehe. Tonight we were supposed to go out in Hoboken, but I'm totally hungover. This day has been downright painful. At least I got a shitload of work done and a nice long lunch with my bosses and senior staff. nice. This glare on the computer screen is killing me though! ugh. I'm gonna see if Jess wnats to come sleep over tonight, watch a movie, then hit up Short Hills for some shopping tomorrow :) I also need to call my dad and see if he'll give her some miles to come to Miami with us. He only has about 300,000 frequent flier miles...and just flew her to san diego and us to vegas not too long ago. Insane. That man travels so much! And now that they have the baby, Cheryl is almost never gonna go with him. Sweet.
So I picked up Jasper yesterday and he is sweeter than ever! He slept with me all night and was so cute! I dunno if it's the painkillers or lack of balls, but I like the new jasper :)
