Monday was a pretty cool day. Made it to the Trenton office by 7:30 (from JC), called my boss and finalized testimony on 2 bills up in committee. Went to the Statehouse and testified for the first time ever (finally!) on the 2 bills. I think it went really well, even joked around with the sponsor while I was up there.
After that I had lunch in the statehouse cafe with my 2 bosses- the President and the Chief of Staff, and the new assistant to the Pres (who rocks!). Headed over to the State useum to watch McGreevey's farewell address. I found it odd, I suppose. Plus it was weird because there were maybe 200 people squeezed in the little auditorium I'm glad he apologized- he really did screw up a lot of people's careers, not to mention the state's trust in politics. But he quoted all of these famous virtuous people, like Lincoln and King, and even ended with "I have a dream..." WTF. He also said he was proud to be gay at least 3 times, which I just found interesting...
Then I headed back to the Statehouse to track down one of the Senators regarding some amendments I'm hoping won't get introduced--but it's all very shady, and his answers are even more shady...guess we'll figure it out Monday when it's up in committee...
Later that day I did some shopping at Ann Taylor and got some fabulous new pants for my double feature (Friday and Sat) out in Hoboken this weekend...finally got home, organized, put up some stuff I got from Ikea. Class was cancelled!!! Shocker.
This morning was terrible. Again I had to get up super early and bring my cat to the vet to be spayed and declawed at 8 am. He kept me up ALL night jumping on me and playing around, and I felt too guilty to kick him out--til about 5, I just couldn't take it! When I took him to the vet, I started crying I felt so guilty!!! Poor little thing! And he has to stay there for 2 whole nights :( But I called the vet and they said he's fine.
Today I am just exhausted. I'd love to go home and pass out...but of course I've got Con Law and then SBA. I'm thinking of quitting SBA...it's just not the same this year. I miss the 3ls from last year, and it's somewhat contentious...not to mention I feel like we accomplish nothing. Though I think it looks good on my resume--shows I was involved and all that. However, I am applying to be a TA for Legal Research and Writing, and I know that's gonna take a ton of time next semester. The only good thing is that it will make me an expert in citations, which hopefully will make me a shoe-in for a law journal.
