alright, so this has been the weekend of doctor visits... here is the update on my life. :o)
Stomach: I had an Ultra Sound on Saturday which revealed i have gall stones. They told me this yesterday after i had been doped up for my endoscopy, but mom says the doc said he's not super worried about it now, he wants to see if we can fix all this without surgery, so sounds good to me :) Yesterday I had an endoscopy (through the mouth down the esophagus and into my stomach and stuff) and he said he saw some minor inflamation but it didn't look too severe. i think mom said he did some scraping to run tests, but again, i was doped lol. he wants me to take my Prevacid everyday and come back and see him in a month and see if that makes things better. if it does, fabulous, if not, well, we'll have to proceed somewhere, possibly to taking out my gall bladder or something else.
the cold: you've seen my status updates on facebook (or most of you have) that i've been sick. well yesterday i went to the ENT (we'll get to that) and he said it was an upper respitory infection, cute, i know. :) so i'm on a steroid six day pack, and amoxacillan, plus he gave me nasal spray to clear that all out. so far so good on that, i mean, i can breathe through my nose so i'm not complaining :)
the "bump": i've probably told a lot of you about "the bump" if i haven't, well, i have a bump on the back of my left lower jaw, or so i thought. my pediatrician thought it was an inflamed lymph node but after antibiotics didn't take the inflamation down, she said i should see an ENT, since i still have insurance for a few more months. so i did. well, said ENT told us after poking around at it, that it's most likely a tumor in my parotid gland. he said it's not rare (not super common, but it's not some rare disease no one has) and that he's done surgery to remove them a lot. he said that 80% of these tumors are benign (non-cancerous) but will turn cancerous if left untreated. so, i'm having an MRI on thursday evening of my neck/head to make sure it is in fact a tumor, then i have a follow up appointment with the ENT to discuss what we've gotta do. If it's a tumor, that means it has to be surgically removed. he said the surgery isn't bad, it's an incision like a face lift (in front of and around your ear) and then stitch it back up and about a week later you're on your way good as new.
alright, i think that's everything. i'm not all rattled about it, so if you have questions, comments, suggestions what have you, throw 'em my way. i appreciate everyone's thoughts and prayers and hey, maybe it'll all just go away on it's own :)
also, today marks two years since my grandma passed away... i just really can't believe it's been that long. it seems like she should still be here, and that i should just pop over and visit her. i haven't been to their house since then... i dropped my dad off there like a week or so ago, but i didn't go in, just pulled into the drive way. it was still a little unnerving
student teaching is still going. Mrs Parkinson had to leave today cuz her son got sick, so i had the afternoon by myself (with a building sub...) wasn't too bad, just some chaos with one kiddo, but took care of it. three more weeks in this class, then 8 weeks in ECIS. i've been told the ECIS will be a breeze after this class. haha, we'll see.
things with jeff are wonderful. he is the most amazing boy ever :) it'll be two years in May, i can't believe that too... time is flying! he got me a build-a-bear for valentines day. now, my sister told him to get it, but he went, he built it, and he dressed it, and it is SOO cute. and, i've always wanted a build-a-bear so now i'm happy :) haha! i'm just head over heels in love with that boy... plain and simple. :)
alright, well, that's two updates in less than two weeks, so i get a gold star or something :) k thanks
